That's a shame. He was a good actor and I remember him in loads of good TV as well - remember City Lights? RIP Gerard.

macmam · 29/10/2010 10:44

OMG! Was discussing going to pant with DH just this week. He was fab! Sad.

bandgeek · 29/10/2010 11:11

Really sad Sad
I used to love City Lights

TheCrackFox · 29/10/2010 11:19

How sad. 51 is so young.

conkie · 29/10/2010 11:36

Awww, can't believe it. I loved City Lights. How did he die?

mumofshortie73 · 29/10/2010 15:33

I am saddened by the news too, City Lights was so funny, one of the best things on the telly in the 80's, I think, and a neat wee precursor to the likes of Still Game. Panto in Scotland will not be the same without him.

A brain aneurysm was the cause of death.

Poor man.

mozette · 29/10/2010 15:45

Too young.

Must admit didn't like him doing the 'Glasgow Hardman' roles for Eastenders but loved him in City Lights.

- great theme music too!
mumofshortie73 · 29/10/2010 16:32

Quite right, mozette thanks for your link, I will enjoy watching that later once the DC's are in bed.

Music one of the classics yes !

Are you a Morrissey fan, BTW ?!

louii · 29/10/2010 16:36

Goodness, he was very young, he seemed to have been around forever thought he was a lot older.
Rip Gerard.

Alibobster · 29/10/2010 16:39

This is so sad, isn't it? Did anyone see him in Extras? Absolutely brilliant, in a slightly disturbing way We've lost a great actor and comedian here Sad

yama · 29/10/2010 20:22

God, when was City Lights on - I loved it?

I remember they did an 'It's a Wonderful Life' episode with Billy Connolly.
