I have to confess that I went to a MLU both times (before ending up in hospital) but at least I had the choice....

Sheer protectionism on the part of hospital obstetricians and state protected too- absolutely outrageous.

The thing to do is write to your MP and ask them to raise questions about it and get the Foreign Office to raise it with the Hungarian government. I'm sure the NCT could get involved too and Amnesty International.

I've had two lovely homebirths; first unplanned but with a midwife. The second time a homebirth was recommended (didn't want me giving birth in the car I suppose!!) and by the end of the birth I had two midwives and three student midwives drinking tea in my living room. I feel so fortunate to have had my own experience and so Angry to hear about this!

WHO Europe should also be asking questions about this...
