Very tragic but very strange.

I tend to only listen/watch/read the news once a day. Normally the news in the evening/over the day is more or less the same if you watched it 9am or11pm. Add to this most news focuses on terrible things that are happening across the world, if people thought deeply about the reality of it or pulled apart every tiny detail, it would be too much to cope with the majority of people jwouldn't get out of bed. Also since having my dd, I look at the news very differently to how I did before having a baby, it upsets me much more and i respond to the news with a heighten level of realitiy.

I was out today and had a flick through the paper that someone had left in the coffee shop.

Anyway, It was regarding a fatal plane crash the other day over africa somewhere. The bizzarre fact is the plane nosed dived towardsa horrific crash that killed all on board save one surviver.the reason for this panic was something I would never in my wildest dreams think could/would happen.

It was a small plane so there was about 20 people flying in it. The reason for the crash was the entire group of people dashed very quickly to the front end of the plane in shear panic.

The crocodile (which had been smuggled in so noone had a clue it was there) had escaped from the lugguge room of the plane and was charging at all these people with basically the intention of attacking. It as very aggressive and very much alive,large and stronge.

With the sudden weight differnce of all these people running to the same area caused the plane to nose dive rapidly and fatally crash.

Not only is this so werid/strange that I would EVER think it could happen, it would never in a million years even cross my mind. Its scary really. Futhermore, I would like to understand how the hell some one can 'smuggle' such a wild, stronge, large and dangerous onto a small plane with noone noticing it at all until it charged at people with a basic attempt to kill. It seems someone had done this undetected with the intention to make lots of money on the black market.

What does anyone else think? This has got to be the strangest reason for a plane crash. Very sad story.

It is extremely sad and very strange...but bear in mind that air travel inside Africa (and many other developing world places) is not subject to the same regulations or conditions as it is in more developed countries.
There is far less red tape, planes and pilotsare often far less regulated and far less safe to begin with.

Therefore it doesn't sound all that implausible to me. I suspect the animal was probably heavily tranquilised when it was taken on board, but perhaps this wore off or something...what a tragedy.

I saw this too and thought it very bizarre.
How horrible and scary, what an awful way to die.
Plane crash bad enough, but a crocodile running towards you beforehand! Nightmare.

we are used to sanitised air travel. I remember the Russian airliner that crashed when the pilot let his 11 yr old son take the controls. Also heard of airlines that allow passengers to take on board their chickens etc. I though 'Snakes on a Plane' was a ridiculous concept for a movie but apparently not.

We are all born the same but there is a billion ways to die (sad). Just hope that it's in your sleep.
