Just read this story

What a fab woman. I hope that in similar circumstances I would be equally brave and tenacious. I hope I can bring up children who would do the same.

Again Hmm

This was a big thread last week. :)

Well I didn't see the thread, and I did not see that news item, either, so thanks BleedyG for bribing it to my attention. I agree, she sounds amazingly brave. Without actually saying so, the article gives the impression that she was calm and restrained. I wonder whether she was.

A woman on a train warned me that a pickpocket was trying to get into my pocket once, and the verbal abuse she then got from him was shocking. Nobody else stood up for her. It was very frightening.

Wow, PrettyCandles. I would definitely have stood up for that woman. In fact, I'd have warned you about the pickpocket as well. I once stopped a fight between two grown men at a station, while 3 male guards stood by doing sod all.

People are so self-centred sometimes, aren't they? I take the attitude (which Lisa takes) that 'if YOU arrogant little criminal shitebag think you have the right to screw up my community, I also have the right to stop you from doing so.'
