Anyone else following this?

From what I've read of the first week's proceedings, it seems that the NOTW had a watertight case. There's solid evidence in the form of SSP minutes and a video-ed confession.

I can't imagine what made him bring the original case against the NOTW - sheer arrogance, I suspect.

If found guilty, will they both be jailed?

Seems to be no end of witnesses for the prosecution so far. Will be interesting to hear the defence.

Very sad for their young child if they're found guilty and jailed. Don't know much about the legal system so not sure if a guilty verdict for perjury would result in a custodial sentence.

Any legal types still awake?

Surely you would have to be some kind of special stupid to have actually admitted to it though? He seems, if the witnesses are to be believed, to be a bit of a blabbermouth.

Archer got jailed for perjury, in a not dissimilar situation, so it's not impossible.

I think there will be a deal, where one of them changes their plea to guilty so the other is spared jail.

Didn't she say originally that if she knew he'd been unfaithful, he'd be at the bottom of the Clyde with concrete wellies, or some such? Pah.
