More people affected by benefit cuts than previously thought?

Does this mean that they will raise the personal allowance to £10,000, then lower the HRT threshold by £2,500 so those earning over £41,500 (by 2013) will lose child benefit as well?

Yes. And by 2015 tax experts reckon the HRT band will be reduced further to start at 38k. At that point people earning 38k will be affected.

Tories are being very careful not to mention a figure when talking about who will be affected.

Not looking so bad now - ds 16 in 2011, so will be doing A levels when this hits, so will not lose anything in any case then.
