A couple of weeks ago my mum got a phone call to say that my 14 year old brother had been nominated by the police for a community Youth award. They said that they were really impressed by his attitude and determination to make his community a better, safer place for himself and his peers.

We were all very proud.

Well outr local council announced planned cuts to our youth centres.
The youth centre my brother attends isn't one of those facing closure but he still believes that the cuts will be devestating for the teens of our town.

He decided to get a petition started to save the centres.
For a boy with severe Dyslexia this was no small task.

He also started a Facebook page Here

he has been interviewed for the local paper Here and has just been interviewed by Talk Radio about it.

We are all obviously very proud of how much work he has put into his campaigne and are glad he is getting the recognition he deserves.

Now that i have finished gloating, can i ask that those on facebook join his page as your membership counts as a name to the petition.

it really is a very worthwhile cause. these centres give the children of our town a safe place to be and not least keeps them out of trouble.

In teh same paper that my brother appeared in was an article about the attempted abduction of two children last week.

Anything that keeps children safe and entertained is a necessity.

Please help if you can

i too have 'liked' it. i couldn't see an option to join, but i noted that he had 214 people who already liked it so i assume that means joining.

Is he on Twitter? Good way of reaching lots of people. Send it to politicians, maybe John Prescott, SB etc. If you can get one of them to RT it then it may well get a lot of hits.
