Does child benefit affect mortgages?

MilaMae · 05/10/2010 19:05

ie is it classed as income?

It's just according to todays news 50% of current mortgages wouldn't be granted under the new rules.

Just thinking that if CB is classed as income when you apply for a mortgage it could have quite a serious impact for those loosing it when re-mortgaging.

Hoping this isn't the case.

Does anybody know?

we were never asked about CHB - our lender did not include it as income, nor our CTC/WTC.Some lenders might.
