"LONDON (Reuters) - A mother and two young children, one a nine-month old baby, were killed on Wednesday when they were struck by a speeding train at a station in south west London, British Transport police said"

How the hell did this happen?? Can only guess that she was trying to cross the line and got hit.

No, she jumped. There's another thread on it somewhere ... hang on.

I just read this. How tragic.
Just makes you wonder what some people are going through. To intentionally harm yourself and your little ones - poor woman. Absolutely shocking.

update on this one

It doesn't quite add up, does it? Someone is being economical with the truth.

this is tragic.
beyond that.
to take ones life is one thing.
horrible.

but TO TAKE your CHILDRENS LIVES too.

unspeakable.

i hope they all have peace in whatever comes after this life.

And she was 4 mths pregnant I heard...She really must have been depressed to think that this was the solution.

Janh · 08/09/2005 13:44

Somebody said she was (in NOTW I think so dunno how reliable) - somebody else said she wasn't...

In certain frames of mind Mums can feel like this is the best thing she can do for her children. Some Mums convince themselves that the happiest place for all of them to be together is in heaven. I don't think it's about a conscious and malicious decision to murder your children.... its more about not leaving them behind. So SO wrong, but it happens....

There was a background piece in the Guardian today which said the same thing, toothy - if she had been going to friends and saying "would you have my kids if something happened to me?" and they all said eg "oh don't be silly" she would have thought taking them was best.

Still can't believe she took her childrens lives as well. The father arrived at the train station in time to cuddle his son as he died
