"Who will hold the RSPCA to account?". What do YOU think their powers entail?

As a rescuer I am aware of the facts in this Independent article.

However, I'm frequently surprised that others aren't.

What powers in law did you tihnk they had and why?

Without reading the article...I think they don't have any powers in law. They just work in conjuction with the police sometimes.

I didn't think you could arrest you or charge you with anything. I thought they compiled cases to give to the police. But I did think that they had a right to enter your home/force their way in.

I'm sure I have seen them post cards through people's door on the tv saying they have so long to get in touch and let the RSPCA in or they would procure a warrant to enter anyway. Was I just dreaming this?

Woukdn't put it past them Shiny. They can only get a warrant in so far as they are able to alert the Police and allow them to carry out the process of law rather than take action themselves (apart from civil action, just as you or I could of course).

Falling, totally right. You're a rare 'un ime, most people have different ideas.
