Please don't let SamCam name their baby girl a name on our short list!

I wish them congratulations on their early arrival, but I will be v pissed off if they pick a name that's on our list. DH and I are struggling to decide as it is! If they pick on of our favourites we'll be buggered!

Ha! So the radio presenter I heard slagging off Dave because he didn't come back from Cornwall to meet the FIFA dudes yesterday will have to eat humble pie, because she was probably in labour at the time.

SmellyPirateHooker · 24/08/2010 14:28

Congrats to PM & SamCam.

I suspect she had a planned c-section, the timing is unbelievably perfect as he would be so committed to PM stuff in a couple of weeks he could barely take any time off.

Bumperlicious · 24/08/2010 14:31

No apparently she was visiting a hospital in Cornwall and went into labour there.

It'll help narrow it down though, won't it?

SmellyPirateHooker · 24/08/2010 14:32

Really?

Aw, that's nice, I reckon I would have been doing the planned c-section thing if I was in her shoes. She did not look about drop in the holiday pic of her the other day.

oh good grief, my sentiments are the same as yours bumpilicious but we've only got one name on our list so we'd be really stuck Confused

sorrento56 · 24/08/2010 14:50

I have just heard that they have had their baby :). How sad that even the lovely news that a baby has been born brings cynical comments.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 24/08/2010 14:50

She had planned c-sections for Nancy and Arthur after an emergency section for Ivan and his having CP, which I think is quite understandable.

At least we have two names on our girls' shortlist at the moment. And I really don't think one of them would go with Cameron, so we should be safe.

ProfessorLaytonIsMyLoveSlave · 24/08/2010 14:51

They didn't name Arthur straight away, so we can expect to hear in a couple of days, I imagine.

tweakers · 24/08/2010 14:52

so frustrating! if our baby had arrived a couple of days ago I could have already let SamCam know that our name was taken and she'd have to pick something else

SmellyPirateHooker · 24/08/2010 15:07

Where are the cynical comments?

My comments weren't cynical, just said the timing is brilliant and mother nature usually isn't quite so obliging! Unless you're referring to Twitter or something which is already full of jokes?

I love SamCam, think she is fab.

mama2mooandbabymoo · 24/08/2010 15:19

Here

Congratulations to them. Bit of a shock for them Smile

TheDoodler · 24/08/2010 15:25

He's just said she'll have a Cornish middle name.

sorrento56 · 24/08/2010 15:25

Apologies SmellyPirate. I read it wrongly, clearly I am in a much worse mood than I thought Blush.

unless you are keen on names like Nathan, Nancy and Ivan, I think you're pretty safe.

Also, who really cares if they share a name?

My sister was named Diana the year (month!) that Charles and Di got married, you can rest assured that 6 months after she was born no-one drew any correlation let alone give half a shit.

That would be because all the people who knowingly said "Ahhh, after Lady Di?" in the first few weeks after she was born had been offed by your parents with an icepick and buried under the patio, though.

tweakers · 24/08/2010 16:06

profLayton if i go into labour in the next hour or so i'm blaming you for making me laugh so much!

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 24/08/2010 16:07

Ah, but when it really matters - in about 10 years time - nobody will remember.

I always liked Leo - i don't think anyone really makes the link with the Blairs, do they?

HunSolo · 24/08/2010 16:10

yes

him and leo sayer and that was 30 years ago.

Cortina · 24/08/2010 16:14

Give her Loveday as a middle name! Gorgeous & Cornish and DP says no!

Bumperlicious · 24/08/2010 19:47

For the record I'm not really that bothered, it was a tongue in cheek thread :)
