DS1 and DD's secondary school new build is going ahead after all!

The secondary school next to ds's primary has a big building project that was due to start these holidays - a much-needed new sports hall. Haven't been up to see if they've started work but it would be terrible news if the funding was pulled. People have worked SO hard over so many years to get this thing together!

They had been working on the new school for 3 yrs. They had rerouted a water main and dug up a whole orchard of trees, and moved the science labs into temporary buildings already. So it was crazy to stop it at such a late stage. 2 others in our town have been halted though,

You must live in a Tory marginal constituency then.

Nope. True blue Tory through and through Inspite of the fact that everyone i know here has voted LD or Labour in every election for the last 20 yrs. It's a Tory area though and our town is a bit of a blip. Most of the constituency is in lovely rolling Tory countryside.

But our MP was one of the first to kick up about it when the projects were first put on hold. First time I've ever raised a cheer for our MP.
