Child Database Scrapped

Having never been comfortable with the idea of having every single child's details on a database I'm pleased that it has been dispensed with. Information needs to be shared between health and SS professionals intelligently if children are to be protected. Blanket measures are never effective.

Hurrah!!! So glad about this. On the news it was reported as being 'switched off' today. Not sure how that will work - my laptop tends to remember everything on it even if I take the battery out...

Every single child is on a database though. Several probably! Passport agency, child benefit agency, national pupil database to name but a few.

Good. That database was open to abuse.
