I suppose that every 5 years another celeb will decide that they have invented babies. She is entirely right on the basics. Breastfeeding is indeed a good thing.
It may be a good idea to persuade everyone in general that bf is a Good Thing. So that people who had not considered it (as a result of various cultural factors, practical considerations - someone else to do the night feed, et al) do realise that, 'everybody's doing it, biting mum's tit and puking it?' is the norm and goodmom thing to do.
So, I am wondering whether even very extreme statements like this, do they help by just subtly tweeking our cultural norms?
The bit about making it law is too ludicrous to bother with.
I couldn't breastfeed. The pressure to bf was intense from my mw. I sort of think that we should do whatever we can to culturally influence mothers' decisions over bf. And when they don't, respect that.
