Well, call me suspicious but a third accusation of murder seems like evidence to steer clear! I mean, most people are not in and out of court after being mixed up in mysterious deaths. Or are they?

Either he's a very unlucky chap or he has competent legal team and lots of people in the right places owe him favours. Or it just so happens that lots of people come to an untimely end in his presence.

There didn't seem to be any question that he killed at least one of those three men though, so not quite an I just walked by and he dropped dead type thing. Quite apart from the fact that he had a gun (just in case?)

I don't know why he would want to take legal action against the police - their incompetence sounds like his greatest asset.
