Has there been a thread about the French murders yet?

Don't want to start multiple threads if one is going on already but can't see one.
Shocking and horrific murders but also mind-boggling that the initial reports indicate that nobody (not her family,friends or even her husband) realised she was even pregnant multiple times let alone killing the children when born.

Dear Lord, what is the world coming to?

I haven't read it but I do remember acase in Germany a few years back where several babies (I think 8 but I am not sure anymore) were buried in window boxes on a balcony and there too apparently the husband had not noticed his wife was pregnant. It is very hard to believe - and all very sad and strange.

My first thought was that the husband could not possibly have not known. They must have an odd relationship if he didn't notice but at the same time they obviously still had an active sex-life.
However the fact that her daughters didn't notice not did any members of what seems a tight knit community makes me think there's a very very slight (almost impossible) chance he didn't, but I'm far from convinced at the moment.

well yes, you would think a dh would noticethe changes to his wife's body if they have an active sex-life.

Just read an article which mentioned her heavy build as making it possible for her to conceal the pregnancies. They also mention that the reasons for the killings she gave in the confession where to avoid having to go to a doctor for contraception.
"VILLERS-AU-TERTRE, France (AFP) ? A French nursing assistant Thursday admitted suffocating eight newborn babies because she did not want more children and wished to avoid seeing a doctor for contraception, a prosecutor said."

well yes I suppose it is possible that the dh is not the father of those babies
