‘Microaggressions are subtle, often unintentional comments or behaviors that convey prejudiced or stereotypical views toward a marginalized group. They can be about race, religion, gender, nationality, etc’

I read alot on mumsnet and I’ve noticed many people promote negative views of Muslims - consciously or unconsciously. Can you educate fellow mumsnetters on the microagressions you have experienced or noticed? Would be grateful for any examples.

Educate? How obnoxious.

I find that when people are talking about educating others... that's a macro micro agression!
"Here's how I'll tell you how wrong you are, and in order to correct you into right think I'll kindly educate you!"

I’d like to create a space where we can better understand microaggressions by sharing examples —The goal is to educate, not to judge and to create awareness that it IS happening too many times.

If you've read the anti-Muslim posts and threads on MN you'll realise it's a very bad idea to invite Muslims to be open about microaggressions, because it will just attract a whole heap of unasked for denial, negativity, macroaggressions and derailment, and you can't protect us from the trauma of that on a public forum. MNHQ can't do it either. If you really want to do this, use a platform where you as the owner can control the content.
