Hi all,

I will be applying for my wife’s ilr visa. What documents would I need to support her case?

Is this real? It would depend on what visa she is on which surely you would know? They are all totally different requirements. She applies for it, not you.

OccasionalHope · 29/12/2024 23:08

It should all be on the government website.

ACynicalDad · 29/12/2024 23:10

We did it about a decade ago so it will have changed, but we needed something like 12 letters to show cohabitation, what I remember was that ours weren't spread over the time period so I had to find extra to show she hadn't moved in out, in out, (shake it all about do the hokey cokey etc.) really it's anything that shows the connection and it's all so easy to fake, so it's mainly pointless.

BreezyDuck · 30/12/2024 10:32

This is real why would this be fake? My wife came in a Spouse visa

Ok so you will be well versed then in what documents are needed and will be following the guidelines

cfmtb · 30/12/2024 15:18

The same as you needed when you applied for her further leave to remain visa 2.5 years ago, and her spouse visa 2.5yrs before that. You have to have applied for this before the ILR as I'm sure you know. All of the letters to prove cohabitation and income. All the details are online on the website as you apply.

cfmtb · 30/12/2024 15:19

I think she also needs to have passed the life in the U.K. test?

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 30/12/2024 15:20

You'll probably get more accurate information from the appropriate government sites than from mumsnet.

You can't go on what random people say. You need facts from an official source.

OP you mistake this forum for

a). The TIB
b). a Government department
c). an Information Desk
d). Oracles
e). people who care

cestlavielife · 30/12/2024 15:28

If you not sure
Pay an immigration lawyer

VacuumPacked · 30/12/2024 15:30

I just saw the time of the initial post I should be more vigilant - I would not have posted had I realised.

BreezyDuck · 30/12/2024 16:47

Any advice if the documents need to be dated since the last 2.5 years or 6 months?

OP posts:
cestlavielife · 30/12/2024 20:15

Check the website or ask immigration lawyer
You should not take anonymous answers from a forum

Elopelo · 30/12/2024 20:25

@BreezyDuck you might be better off posting on an Immigration forum like Immigration Boards, Expat Forum or UK Yankee, etc. Lots of information there and helpful members to guide you through the process. Best wishes for your wife’s application.
