American states- abortion ban as ‘non-essential’

Hi everyone,

As I am sure everyone else is, I am actively watching the news from the UK and around the world on their handling of the virus. I’m very shocked to see that Texas amongst other areas in the US are banning abortions as non-essential. I’m aware these states are bible belt areas who wished to ban abortions previously, so this is surely the government using the situation to their advantage now to prevent abortions. It’s disgusting and although petitions only go so far I wondered if anyone more clued up knows is there anything out there to sign up to to try and deter the Government in theese states enforcing this?

I really feel for the women in this area and surely this can’t be allowed, it breaches all basic human rights of women

Breaks my heart. For the women, for the planet, above all for a child born unwanted. Black lives matter, so do women's lives, so do children's. Please, preachers, openly declare which group you truly consider is too sub human to have human rights?

I’m just horrified to read this.

THe impact on the lives of women being denied an abortion is immeasurable.
