(dull question of the day) how/where do you store tupperware?

My collection of tupperware is driving me loopy. Takes up a whole cupboard and yet I can never seem to find anything of the right size and a lid that fits if I do. And it all falls out everytime I open the cupboard.

I need the cupboard or something else now and need a less soul-destroying tupperware situation.

Mine is a right mess - some precariously balanced on top of the fridge, some in a drawer along with graters, blender gadgets, that sort of thing. Every so often I sort it all out , stack it neatly with lids nearby etc., but then it becomes chaos again in days.

I found keeping all the lids in a zip lock bag helps and the small tubs in one big plastic tub. Can't take credit for this idea got it off flylady!

MayorNaze · 28/06/2010 13:07

in the cupboard with the vases

pots inside each other. lids tucked down the side.

DinahRod · 28/06/2010 13:08

DD keeps getting them out to play with - they are on the kitchen floor.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 28/06/2010 13:11

The lids just spontaneously combust don't they? After say a week or two of ownership.

And the tubs themselves breed and make lots of little mini tubs that are juat a bit smaller than the size you need

MrsJohnDeere · 28/06/2010 14:01

zip lock bag idea is a good one

I keep all my Tupperware and similar bits in a crate on a shelf in the cupboard. All the lids are also kept in the crate too. Much easier!

Zip lock awesome idea. This is why I love Flylady
Going to look again at the mad pile on top of my fridge now

thelunar66 · 28/06/2010 23:51

I keep mine in a cupboard where they all fall on my head whenver I open the door.

ttalloo · 28/06/2010 23:57

Love the ziplock bag idea; mine are in a cupboard that's too small for them, but they don't spend too much time in there. DS2 has them out at least once a day. Sigh.

nagoo · 28/06/2010 23:59

I'm in the 'heaping mess in cupboard unless they are tipped out over the floor' camp.

Where the hell am I going to get a massive zip lock bag? Or do you people only have about 3 tubs? I've got squillions of the things.

HouseofCrazy · 29/06/2010 00:10

Same as mayornaze

OR Put all the lids in one of those rectangle icecream tub. Thats my version of mayors 'tucked down the side.' Saves faffing with the zip bag.

DreamTeamGirl · 29/06/2010 20:19

I have just redone all mine today and they are sorted with the lids in bags. The top of the fridge looks tidy again, and crazy as it sounds its like a weight lifted not worrying that its all going to crash down everytime I open the fridge door!!!

2madboys · 29/06/2010 20:22

In a pan drawer with all the lids together in the really huge box that I only use very rarely.
