After reading one of the threads on here, I have just been inspired to put my microfibre moppy thing to good use (I had no idea what it was really meant for either but it was pink polkadot and looked so cute so I had to get it!).

I even nipped out to get some soda crystals especially for the job.

The good news is it worked magnificently - my black and white chequered tiles are back top their shining glory. However, as I stepped back in to the hall to admire my handiwork, the handle of my moppy thing knocked off a pretty much full glass of strawberry cider, leaving my white walls and carpet BRIGHT EFFING PINK!

Got it off the walls ok... and got to work with my carpet cleaner (ruining my clean kitchen floor because i had to run through while it was still drying to grab the stuff from the cupboard). I've got to leave the cleaning stuff a little to see if it works, but it's never tackled such a scary problem before and I have a sneaky suspicion it's not going to do the trick this time.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to clean bright pink cider out of white carpets? It's that knotted pile stuff so I don't want to have to scrub too much incase I ruin it.

The worst thing is, that was my last bottle of cider!

Sorry, no advice but
Nice to know im not the only one this sort of thing happens too!

Seriously though, Hope you manage to get it sorted out though, you have my many sympathies ....

Thanks

Got most of it out, but now it's dried I can see a pinky tinged patch :/

To add insult to injury, I dropped a big jug of water all over my previously clean kitchen floor this morning before work and was frantically mopping it up with the entire contents of my dishcloth drawer and had to go to work with wet trousers!

LOVE that you were drinking cider whilst mopping the kitchen floor... that's rock and roll!

OH dear! For the pink stain on carpet you could try ecover bleach which is very gentle; probably best to dilute it in some hot water first and try a patch first.

try ace gentle bleach...the stuff you use in with the washing, on a damp cloth. other than that you may have to clean the whole carpet...hire a machine from hombase or sumwhere...think its called rug doctor. as that managed to get glitter glue out of my carpet. othe than that call your insurance company and claim for a replacement....
or go all girly and throw cider all over the carpet therefore amking it all pink??!!
