Not how often DO you, but how often SHOULD you?

once a week.

BooKangaWonders · 06/05/2010 07:19

agree with eis, but could be 2x week in really hot weather.

wastingaway · 06/05/2010 07:24

Oh good, starting hardball! Wonder if there'll be many dissenters?

i'm religious about changing the sheets and turning mattresses on wednesdays (turn mattresses once a month, also hoover them).

it's never really hot up here, though.

don't forget to wash pillows once a quarter.

it's where you spend a third of your life, you owe it to yourself to at least keep it clean.

SilveryMoon · 06/05/2010 07:28

I don't know what your 'supposed' to do. I do all of ours once a week. Twice a week in the summer or if we are ill and have the sweats.
I have a friend that does hers and her dd's once a fortnight.

Usually once a week but in Summer here in Australia, sometimes twice. If illness, the next day.

I have friends who change theirs once a month which to me is just bleugh - you wouldn't wear the same clothes for a month so why sleep in sheets that long!

Once a week, but that is mainly because it feels so lovely to get into a freshly made bed, rather than for any reasons of hygeine.

Bonsoir · 06/05/2010 07:52

Once a week.

Sonilaa · 06/05/2010 08:16

when it starts to smell like "bedroom" in the evening after a good air... which is about after a week.

Simply · 06/05/2010 08:20

Once a week.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/05/2010 08:45

Every day in the summer.

Seriously. If you are hot and don't wear pyjamas, you should change them every day.

Every other day in winter.

wastingaway · 06/05/2010 08:49

Getorf, that's a lot of laundry.

Yes I am like Dame Washalot in the Faraway Tree.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/05/2010 08:53

If you wear pyjamas once a week but change the pillowcases mid week, I think.

Any longer than that is pure slatternism.

expatinscotland · 06/05/2010 08:55

I wear pajamas.

DH wears boxers.

Again, it doesn't get hot here, IMO.

hazeyjane · 06/05/2010 09:46

Blimey Getorf I don't think I'd have the time or energy, it took me nearly a whole afternoon to change the beds yesterday! It usually involves lots of bouncing on the beds - dds, not me, making a den out of the bedding, and because I am 30 weeks pregnant, I have to get into the bed and have a lie down after all that activity

sazziej · 06/05/2010 10:02

Once a week in winter, twice a week in summer.

Hullygully · 06/05/2010 10:03

Never on a sunday

minxofmancunia · 06/05/2010 10:04

once a week for our bed, every fortnight for dd (she has a bath every eve and is clean as a whistle before she slips between the sheets).

Ds (7.5 months) chnage cot sheet and sleeping back every other day as he's s sticky little baby

minxofmancunia · 06/05/2010 10:05

sleeping BAG

emsyj · 06/05/2010 10:05

If I ever win the lottery I am going to employ a maid to change my sheets every day. There's nothing better than getting into crisp clean sheets (must be white, must be 100% cotton and freshly ironed). But I am too lazy to change them every day myself. Once a week for us, which is probably enough although they really do need changing by the end of the week as we have 2 cats sleeping on them too. Perhaps twice a week would be better, but no chance of that happening.

Jasonthunderpants · 06/05/2010 13:39

You lot must be fond of housework. I do once a fortnight
Change the kids 4 and 2 once a month. After 2 weeks just turn the sheets round so they are sleeping on the bottom half which is still clean

getthewineinthefridge · 06/05/2010 13:45

GetOrf do you iron them as well if you change every day?!?!?!?!?!

Weekly here, unless, like this week major backlog of other laundry so it will be a couple of days late...

DC's every 10 days or so but they go to bed super clean every night and wear pyjamas
