DS has just deposited a massive poo on the hall carpet. And then smeared it in.

We are all very proud.

I have scraped the poop off, rinsed carpet, washed with detergent, and will have another go later, but does anyone have any good tips/ poducts? Can I use dettol?

Sorry if this is a daft question, but curiously I have never had to clean poo off a carpet before children.

I use dettol, yes... but may be a good idea to do a patch test first so you know dye won't run. Good luck.

Thank you.

Am I bad to be a little bit pleased that it's a really horrible carpet in a rental, and not our own, especially since the landlord can't see how horrible it is at the best of times?

Gutted though that DH spent ages a couple of weekends ago with the carpet shampooer.

I manually remove as much as possible, then make a foam from washing up liquid with a sponge and work it in. followed by clear water. then put some towels on and jump on them to dry the area.

That stuff they sell in pet shops for when you're training a puppy is very good. Simple solutions it's called. I know it sounds silly but was thinking the other day it would have been handy when potty training DS.
