I dont get the anti-Dyson. I would pay more and get more - Dyson.

My Dyson Dc01 is 12 years old and fabulous!

We hate our Dyson and very much miss our Henry (left behind when we moved to Canada - bad move, as you can't buy them here except on a commercial basis). My mother is very happy with her Miele.

Stokey38 · 12/08/2010 06:29

We have a Miele and it's brilliant although must admit have never had a Dyson

Pluto · 12/08/2010 07:33

Miele Miele Miele. Have had ours for about 10 years and it is fab fab fab.

MrsJamin · 12/08/2010 07:48

Another vote for a Henry. It's so cute your DCs will want to use it ;)

Loved my Miele Cat and Dog until the plastic catches broke, fairly early on. Now have a Sebo, which is much better built, and a better vaccum cleaner. Also they have a really good helpline in the UK if you have a problem.

Hated my dyson.

Have a miele but not that mad on it - wish I'd got a henry Grin

alibubbles · 13/08/2010 07:31

I've had 6 Dysons and ONE Miele, enough said!

tartyhighheels · 13/08/2010 07:40

Miele everytime. James Dyson is such a horrid little man, I just cannot line his pockets. I have had a miele for almost 10 years, abused it horribly with clearing up building work etc and it is still going even now, although it has now been 'retired' to our second home in France. It was only ever the cheapest one they did and has now been replaced with the same sort of thing which has been fantastic so far.

mumblechum · 13/08/2010 07:43

Miele. I've had mine for 11 years (after I ran over the Dyson in a rage).

HowAnnoying · 13/08/2010 07:45

Miele

ampere · 17/08/2010 11:27

Which model Miele do you recommend- perhaps other than the dog and cat as we have neither?!

And aren't the replacement bags expensive?

TIA

bumpybecky · 17/08/2010 11:30

we've got the Meile cat dog and it copes ok with pet hair but doens't cope very well with long human hair and with 4 of us with long human hair, that's a problem. Had it 8 years now and am getting fed up

next time it'll be a Henry

AngelDog · 02/09/2010 13:35

I've had 2 Miele (first one got sick after being used to hoover up rather too much plaster and other DIY bits). I like it.

My parents have a Dyson though and complain that our hoover is much harder to push around.
