laminate wood flooring - rugs or no rugs??

We are moving into a house with laminate flooring. I have only ever had carpet but really looking forward to it being easier to keep clean.

When sorting out the loft I found a couple of rugs that we don't really want but not sure if we will need them? Would be nice to have somewhere soft for the kids to play on but dont want the upkeep of having to hoover it daily TBH???

What do you think?

We've just put laminate flooring down and have a big rug for the kids to play on. I've found as long as I sweep up at night the rug only needs hoovering once a week. We also make everyone take shoes off inside and don't let the kids eat on it (they're 1 and 2 so quite messy with food) which stops dirt and crumbs being tracked all over it.

duvetqueen - my DC are similar in age so thats helpful. I think we might keep on for the big living room and then one for upstairs. The kids also have a big play mat thing for their room anyway. Thanks
