HELP!!!!silvery trail on my floor!!! What is it????

OK!! living in old house, has been completely renovated in the last couple of months - was empty for 2 years before that.

Last night I noticed a small silver trail just underneath the kitchen cupboard where the kickboard hadn't been put back. I thought I must have spilt a tiny bit of washing up liquid and wiped it up.

I just opened the cupboard under the stairs (Which is about 15 feet from the kitchen cupboard) to look for somthing and the entire brand new carpet and some of the floorboards is covered in silvery trails!!!!

Has something hatched????? I am freaking out here at the thought - what is doing this?

Hi Yank ! not seen you around for a while. If its any consolation my cat proud hunter that he was used to bring in live worms. Honestly NOTHING smells quite like a worm that has crawled off to die somewhere warm!

Whomoved I'll give it a go if the copper doesn't work And omg that would have to be rat trap!!!

I know it sounds utterly pathetic, but its the thought of all these fat slimy slugs desperatly trying to squeeze themselves through the gaps in the floorboards, the thought of standing on one is just, no, can't even consider the possibility. bleeuuurghh!

How about pull up floorboards pour in salt????
