I shake, fold, leave for a little bit, then dry.

yeah laundry balls I bought mine from a large supermarket (cheaper than the health food shops) .

They last for 700 or so washes and cost £20 but it's one outlay you don't need softener and the clothes are much softer and as i said before don't need any ironing?? depending on your type of fussiness.

I have a magnetic ball thing and soap nuts with a dash of bio powder perhaps the soap nuts etc help because they do make the water so much softer.

cargirl.. Yeah I've seen the soap nuts are they any good?I've also got the magnetic ball thing but don't need it with the laundry ball. i think it's magic!

I like the soap nuts, we live in rock hard thames water area so I still use a bit of laundry powder too but with messy dc stains and dh's stinky sweat I don't like not using it IYSWIM. I may try laundry balls, I did try years ago and wasn't that impressed at the time.

cargirl,I find that stinky sweat esp. in colours is impossible to remove apart from soaking in hot white vinegar before washing; that does work!!

you only need one ball (they're big). You can get smaller ones that you put in the tumble dryer but i've only used them once 'cos i don't like using the tumbler.
