Done piano lesson [phew] in the end I spent all day practising - slightly less bad than usual

Now off for snowy walk to take ds2 to his piano lesson. Theyv'e been locked in school all day (not allowed in playground) and apparently playing darts
so walk should be good.
Now I just hope Beavers is cancelled also then dh won't have to leave work early),
text mssage to say Brownies is

Tacos with leftover chicken for supper! Spicy food to warm us

I have done no housework today though, not too bad though here.

dylsmum - maybe too late but best tip for eye drops is lie child down - get them to close eyes. put drop in corner of eye (they cant see it coming) - then blink lots. and it spreads around.

Spill then, Rubes what's all this about the police?! Too cryptic!
MacD does not equal bad parenting. Well, not every day anyway! Having said that I've never had it! LOL

wendyhappysmile · 13/01/2010 19:58

Our heating is making very very loud strange noises. DH is out. I have turned it off and it has ceased.

OverflowingMum · 13/01/2010 20:06

Evening all

Not been online all day as nursing a migraine, feeling better now though. Think it was brought on by the stress of skidding on the black ice this morning and stopping millimetres from a busy roundabout. I came home and burst into tears.

DD still not too well so not been out other than that and college was cancelled tonight due to ice and threat of more snow so pleased that didn't have to go out again.

I've not really done any housework today but have sorted some bills out that needed doing and booked an online shop for Fri morning delivery as well as buying my friend a pressie for her birthday and menu planning so guess its not been a bad day.

dyls - I know what you mean, I think I have missed 4-5 weeks since starting on my volunteer placement in September. DD seems to be ill every other week since she started nursery in September and if she isn't then she has passed it onto me. Headteacher sounds nice. One of my placements was great for a reference but the other (I worked in 3 schools) refused when I asked for a headteacher one so it sounds like you got a great school.

Right off to tidy kitchen whilst DH is doing some work on PC

You sound v. organised MC,
so sorry about ice scare - there is nothing to be ashamed about feeling stressed by it.

Not really been FLYing today at all, but in time it has taken me to put express wash (30 mins) of uniform on, I have

stacked dw
wiped surfaces
put food back in fridge
emptied food recycling
rounded up gloves and scarves
written out updated food menu on blackboard till Sunday

putunwashables n sink for now
washed other saucepans
washed catbowl

Elsewhere a bit of tip but will concentrate on thngs tomorrow - need to go to bed now

OFM - hat dd's hat was the wrong tension and ended up big enough for me not much use when it's a pixie hat - but that was last year,
this year's scarf for my mum was too short...

I find that film soo romantic - esp the fact that they are so argumentative - gives one hope

swanriver · 13/01/2010 23:12

OFM - our loft bedroom has corally Indian print curtains, green blue carpet, warm stone walls, and a greenbluebeige duvet. And a pink damask chair. With a tapestry cushion sewn by me. And lots of junk...

swanriver · 13/01/2010 23:13

Wendy - hope heatng alright too.
