StAnne · 14/12/2009 10:55

Also going to try and do this Xmas fly

swanriver · 14/12/2009 11:01

Grouchy as long as they are not couch pots
given up on my plans today as both dss have streaming colds so can't get out, which is almost a blessing.
A neighbour's 10 yr old is here again with a chest cold, so they are all playing Monopoly
Anothher friend has just popped in for impromptu cup of tea (I was doing my routines but had not got as far as the kitchen bin, only when she left realised just how smelly it was.. Now cousin is appearing from somewhere to say hello and drop presents, so need to get dressed in less grmy outfit.

TM - I hope I've had all my bad luck for this year, but as you say things go on testing us to the limit.
Star - trying to do teachers' presents TODAY, wrap and sort I mean, and get cards written for delivery on Friday. Perhaps I'll give lollipop lady her present today so that she doesn't get forgotten.

swanriver · 14/12/2009 11:04

Leo - I always complain about dh's interferng but it is hard when he's away so I really sympathise.

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 14/12/2009 11:06

Leo Alan and Steve slept with him last night and as it was cold they were wearing bathrobes - socks to me and you. How on earth does a 6yr old get emotionally attatched to a root vegetable? what next? Carrots? Parsnips?

StAnne · 14/12/2009 11:25

GROUCHY OR large beach stones!

TeaMonster · 14/12/2009 11:28

Groucy, I will be free for a chat after dropping Mini at preschool at 12.30!!

Right I am having 5 mins, I am actually dripping with sweat!!

We have: Mini follows me

Polished upstairs
cleaned Mirrored wardrobe doors
Made beds
Hoovered upstairs
S&S bathroom and ensuite
Got on hands and knees and scrubbed carpet that got brown water on
Hoovered again
Washed down walls in kitchen that got water on and ceiling too. It looks a lot better.

We do have some really nice things that have happened though. Look what one of MadDad's clients gave the boys for Christmas they are so cool

I am also having mother issues. She is still not speaking to me, tried to explain that we had had a household emergency last night nad she sent MadDad a text "I dont want to talk to * again, tell her she needs to sort herself out and rearrange her priorities, good bye"

All because she is not the centre of attention. Well Bah bloody humbug

Home bleuring - doing

Make cakes for Preschool party and Toddler party
Wrap candles for Toddler tea
Washing - on
Ironing
Sort Airing Cupboard and wash more marked bedding

Must tell you about my nephew pocket when he was eight. I went looking for a tissue and found. Post office rubber bands, an old apple core, of course a matchbox car and a stone! He is now 21

leothelioness · 14/12/2009 12:14

grouchy kids are a mystery they leave perfectly good toys and play with the most bizzare collection of things.
StAnne and Swan I yoyo between doing exactly what i want in the evenings (I have the remote) or getting really down after having the kids for the whole day and not haivng another adult to speak to in the evenings. But to be honest he travels quite a lot and I am quite used to it now.

scattyspice · 14/12/2009 12:36

Hi all.

Grouchy - your Ed is so sweet .

swan - sounds very sociable round yours today .

Tea - honestly your mum really takes the biscuit!

Leo - Sorry youre missing dh

StAnne - I think varnish would have looked nicer but don't know how to achieve that look . DC used normal poster paint and liberally sprinkled with glitter for more er colourful look!

Today:
WRITE CHRISTMAS CARDS
DS to write cards for teachers
laundry
wine for friends party
biscuits for work
buy blu tac and batteries and stamps
House bleugh

Tonight is the only night with nothing on this week so I'm going to make the most of it.

swanriver · 14/12/2009 12:37

Toddlerstyle Mum - very annoying TM. She will get bored of being left out eventually. Nothing is more exasperating when people pretend that they are being rational and you are not.

We are having a lovely morning with three boys in house (card heaven)but not much cleaning done
2 loads of washing
bedrooms sorted a bit
kitchen bin emptied
2 cheques sent off via husband mail
NEED MORE STAMPS
My cousin brought a beautiful gingerbread house with her (from a shop)
my dcs are torn between wantng to MAKE gingerbread men but hating gingerbread taste
ds2 is now researching rocks and minerals and I've promised he can go on DK website later if he stops tormentng big boys.

GOALS
lunch for four pasta and cheese
wrap those teacher presents
put some nice clothes on
do piano practice
more garden rubbish bag up (I bag please..)

Simply · 14/12/2009 13:10

Hello to all. Sorry, I've only skipped through the thread.

Grouchy Your Ed sounds very sweet!

I've been out all day and have only just had my elevenses. I know, I should have made myself lunch instead but I'll do that in an hour or so instead.

Good news:- I've bought stuff for dd's stocking. Bad news:- I've only bought a few bits for ds and now I've got to jot down how much I've spent on dd in order to give ds the equivalent. It's not hard, I just have to check the receipts but it feels a bit annoyingly pointless, you know?

I've got to get the spare bedroom ready for a guest tonight. It's mostly done, helped by the fact that I filled up 3 bags for the charity shop!

Right. I'd better get these Christmas stocking items out of sight. Back later!

OverflowingFestiveMum · 14/12/2009 13:31

Galen she just pressed all the right buttons to release those fears that you've harboured since the arrival of DC1. She is a silly moo, she knows nothing about you or you parenting skills. I am on your behalf

just a quick nip in to say hello and I miss you all. Hopefully I will be able to get back later to catch up on what's happening. Did lots of jobs at the weekend but I am being slightly hampered by the sudden demise of my tumble drier.
