CC - I know exactly what you mean about Christmas Eve. We always go to my parents and in recent years it's been a bit chaotic on Christmas Eve with people arriving and all rushing around trying to wrap presents. This year my Mum is retired so won't be working, we are going down tomorrow evening so Christmas Eve will be all calm and lovely

Wasting - good news on the car!

HMHB - thanks, DH thinks it went ok. All the feedback from the first round last week was incredibly positive so fingers crossed! We won't hear until the NY, but will try not to do too much nail biting!!

I am sitting in floods of tears here, DD2 and DS were playing with a rugby ball in the kitchen and managed to smash one of my favourite christmas ornaments, that sits on the kitchen table. Just burst into tears! Knew something was going to push me over the edge and finally the tears have come so hopefully things can only get better from here. DD2 and DS just ran.

AliBellandthe40jingles · 22/12/2009 21:43

Oh CC . At least the tears are out of the way, I always end up crying at some point over Christmas! Is it replaceable?

I'm feeling a bit sad now. DS and I have just been posting cards in the village and we popped in to a friends for a cuppa. We found out they are going to a xmas party at a mum I know quite wells house (about 100 yards away from ours) and DS isn't invited. .

I gave her a xmas card to drop off for them and came back home a bit deflated. I was going to walk over there and drop off the card but would feel embarrassed.

My xmas excitement is somewhat deflated now. At least DS is oblivious and happy playing at home.

awastingamanger · 23/12/2009 14:53

Afternoon all.

CC, we have to push our emotions to the side somewhat when we're the ones coping, but it's good to get it out when you can.

Oh, HMHB, , what meanies! Stuff 'em.

I've been to town, but think I still need to pop up to Morrisons tomorrow morning for some booze and chocolate. I've done really bad with being organised this year, and promise to do better next year.

  • knit (it's supposed to be a xmas present! Eeek!)

Hello everyone - eek it is Christmas! We are still pretty much snowed in, can't really get around. My SIL had to take me out in her Jeep earlier so I could get final pressies - she is registered disabled so we were able to park right next to the doors of places and avoid all the ice sheets which are masquerading as pavements in this town at the moment!

Wasting - I too am disorganised. I have no reason to be what with not working, but somehow I am. MUST TRY HARDER!

HMHB - oh no! Maybe they thought you wouldn't come because of DD? Pretty rubbish though, can you do something nice with DS to put you back in the swing of things?

Plum - have a lovely Christmas with your fire!

We are off down to my parents once we have packed, I will be posting but not very often so have a lovely Christmas everyone!!!
