I will probably be here tomorrow with an enormous list
Ali Going to light the fire as son as I get up tomorrow can wait

Going up to collect my turkey now, I plucked a massive one and jokingly said I wanted that one, and I think the farmer has kept it for me as he said I might need to check it fits the oven
I plucked 2 smaller ones but he has kept me the big one

JustKeepSparkling · 23/12/2009 20:13

Hello everyone

DS2 is fine, had his op, and was calm and sleeping when i left DH with him. Just got to wait and see now....

CC - often a good cry helps. But bad luck about the ornament. DH broke one I had last year and i thought, no probs will get it next year (from M&S) but they aren't doing it this year, grr. so i'm annoyed all over again!

Rugrats - what bad timing at this time of year too.

Um, otherwise, Happy Christmas Eve for tomorrow everyone (as I'm back in hosp on duty) and Happy Christmas too if i don't get back on

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/12/2009 20:30

Mumof2 - sad for your MIL. Seeing you all will be nice for her though. Don't forget to use the power of being good for Santa on your DD1 . Hopefully she will leave DD2 alone.

Sooo looking forward to xmas eve too. Happy Xmas!

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/12/2009 20:32

Ali - impressive list completion there! well done.

Didn't get around to sweeping and washing all downstairs hard floors. Will put that at top of tomorrow's list.

Thanks - it's been really helpful

cikecaka · 23/12/2009 21:58

Oh JKS, that is brilliant news. Glad you are getting a break from hospital duties. I nearly laughed out loud in mass this morning as I was saying a wee prayer for your DS, and in my head I was saying look after "JKS's DS2 today" and I just thought if anyone beside me could hear me they would think I had lost the plot .

Got everything wrapped this evening, feeling quite relieved as I didnt think I had got DD1 a lot but it looks plenty

JustKeepSparkling · 23/12/2009 22:36

CC - would be funny to say out loud!

Dh said to me something along the lines of 'i'll be happy when DS2 has a skull in one piece'...

(During his monitoring his 'trapdoor' bit of skull wasn't actually fastened in place)

i said - say that out loud in a cafe, it will raise a few eyebrows!

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 24/12/2009 09:01

JKS soooo pleased it has gone well

DH had friends round last night so we had a good tidy round yesterday. Was hoping to come on here for a catch up last night whilst DH and his friends played their geeky game, but we had a power cut about 8.30ish that lasted until midnight-ish so we sat around and had a chat for an hour or so which was nice. The whole of our road had no power either.

DD is poorly still as well

Today:

Finish wrapping presents (how do you wrap and hide cheese? )
Make a chocolate bomb
Make some more honeycomb

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 24/12/2009 09:48

Alice - I sympathise with you with ill DD. Little DD was poorly here in the night. Just a cold but the poor wee thing having problems breathing. I raised her cot and put the vaporiser on but not much sleep had by us (me mainly).

DH taking DS to tesco for a manly last minute shop whilst I do panic jobs at home.

Poor poorly baby HMHB it really is horrid when they are tiny. Have you tried the calpol plug in's? I told my mum about them the other day and she reckons they are now the best thing since Iceland micro meals! (my baby sis has DS and is susceptible(sp) to chest problems)

Will use the plug tonight for DD i think.

awastingamanger · 24/12/2009 12:29

I've just had a nice trip to Morrisons, which is a Christmas gift in itself! Not busy at all and the ice has gone. Got cheese and lots of booze.

Sorry for poorly babies and hoping everyone has a pleasant Christmas.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone

Hope all jobs have been done and you are all able to sit down with a drink tonight!

Well H has been SF since the op!! (well Dh thinks he saw 1 absence yesterday but I'm not counting that as I have seen no evidence of anything else)

He's also been awake since 2am this morning, has only just settled down ready for sleep....am now starting to panic about what the future holds! am used to him sleeping up to 20hrs out of 24, eek!!

His left hand is still bothering him bigtime but hopefully it will ease. Hopefully being discharged on Sat, can't wait to get home.

cikecaka · 25/12/2009 10:03

Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a wonderful day

JustKeepSparkling · 25/12/2009 19:13

Well....we are OUT! the surgeon came round this morning and basically said 'we're doing nothing for you right now, you may as well leave if you want'!!

So we are staying in London tonight just to be nearby but will head home in the morning.

H is in bed but chatting, not really sure if/when he'll decide to sleep and when/how we'll get him into any kind of routine. He's been awake since 8am. Tired at times but nowhere near napping.
& &

They took out his sleep button!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

cikecaka · 26/12/2009 09:43

Oh JKS, that is brilliant news, probably the best christmas present ever. Hopefully his sleep pattern will come in time.

Be back in a while with a list because the place is a mess
