Well done Wasting! Hadn't realised how close we cut it then!!!

As for brain plasticity, well it's all about how the brain can adapt around injuries/unformed areas and re-establish connections to carry on.
So, for eg, this woman who lost her sense of balance 'relearnt' how to balance/walk/etc after using a machine that gave her feedback about her 'uprightness'

Should mean hope for DS2 basically.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/12/2009 10:44

Morning everyone Well last night was a bit of a disaster - we were late leaving to go and see the lights because DH got held up working, then when we got there we couldn't find our friends and their DD, and they had left their mobile at home so we couldn't get hold of them. We also didn't have the buggy OR DS' coat which was in the buggy because I thought DH had put it in the car and he thought I had (cue row in the middle of the carpark).
Anyway, DS saw the fireworks and we all had a mince pie and then we got a chinese takeaway on the way home so was all ok in the end. And I went to bed at 9:30 which is unheard of!!
Today we are going to get our Christmas tree.

Ooh can I join in? I'm having a tired, hormonal and useless day so this might get me motivated to get a bit done (supposed to be doing the tree tonight when ds goes to bed, think I'll be too tired after only 2 hours sleep last night!)

I'll start with a manageable list or I'll feel like a failure.

  • tidy bathroom
  • tidy livingroom
  • find homes for ds's paintings
  • set up playdough at kitchen table

PlumBumMum · 05/12/2009 18:17

Here I am, ouch JKS, and welcome James

JKS I think it is definitely how positive you are too and you are brilliant mum, my friends niece was born with a condition where the 2 halves of the brain aren't connected together properly, my friend says the doctors are amazed by the amount she can actually do (she's deaf & dumb also) but its because her mum listens and does everything and more with her, the brain is an amazing thing indeed!

Well guess how I'm going to start the thread with a moan!!!!
My mum posted our xmas cards, dh & i love mum, the dcs love mum & GRANDAD
I told her at easter his name wasn't to be on the cards and the worst bit is, she is writing his name!!!!
Yes dejavu, she did the same at dd1s communion
dh ripped up the card and stuck in the bin, she hasn't asked me if I got my card, she normally asks, so don't even know if I want to argue with her!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/12/2009 18:40

Thanks for the welcome, this thread really inspired me to get my arse in gear and do something today so thanks. I may not post all the time, I tend to be a "blitzer" rather than chipping away at it every day as I probably should. I like to get a whole room done so you can see you've properly done something! I'm 17 weeks pg, sparkling. And I've got to get this grotty little house shipshape before he/she arrives!!
