Is it safe to use the oven until it's fixed?

Very grateful in advance for any replies....

God no!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/12/2009 13:32

this happened on my top oven/grill
apparently it's a safety device fault

nickschick · 05/12/2009 13:34

Can I ask you - did you have the glass in the right way?? I had my oven door replaced and the enginneer told me that if you put the glass in the wrong way round thats how the glass shatters???

MoChan · 05/12/2009 20:57

No idea about whether it was in the right way or not; the builder who put it in is coming back to sort it out though. As far as I remember, the oven door arrived attached as it was, so presumably if there was a fault with it then, it's the fault of the supplier.

It's not very old, only been in about nine months, so it must be a fault with it (as opposed to being aged and clapped out..)

Thanks for your replies; will restrict meals to things which can be cooked on hob. Though takeaways may also be in the offing...

Had promised to make mince pies for upcoming play group Christmas party. Will have to attempt to pass off shop bought as home made...

Thanks again.
