Evening all Wendy 40 & 30 pants and I thought I was over the top with 8!
Right few more tasks before the day is done.
I'm going out with the girls to the Country Life Christmas shopping show. We've been doing it for the past 3-4 years its become a tradition not so much the shopping but the running away from home and leaving all our trouble behind. It's better than a night out as you don't have to dress up or even spend any money if you don't want to. (we always do) I'm taking my trolley this year as I always buy heavy things like drink! Sloe gin anyone. I have to leave things in place for DH & DS. They have church & have to take things in for the Fete. Ready by the door. Then a farm party, packed wellies & wrap present.
Clean tidy kitchen so the morning is a breeze.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Star sounds great! Have a great day.
X Factor now. Just put another order in at the Book People - oops.

leeloo1 · 14/11/2009 23:47

Lol at "I'm sure people think he's homeless!" - sadly he saves all the worst stuff for round the house so only I am treated to him looking shoddy, everyone else probably thinks he is quite presentable.

Oh well, resisted the temptation to shrink his shirts in the tumble drier... Need a [saintly halo] emoticon! Although still haven't finished my list of jobs from Thursday, so maybe not that saintly!

TeaMonster · 15/11/2009 08:13

Morning my lovleys

Sorry I did not get back on yesterday, but what a day

Costco and Ikea were OK, but mum took forever and then neice had a D&V accident.

Finally got home and we all had a nice lounge in front of Merlin and strickty, but........................

MiniMad has been sick all night

I have washing piled everywhere and we ran out of bedding and put him in with us, so I am shattered and letting MadDad have a rest

Leeloo - I 'forget' to wash dh's worst tshirts (they fester at the bottom of the laundry basket lol) .

Glad your still going strong on the party front Wendy.

Sounds like a great day Star.

Hi everyone else.

Have been out to the lighthouse this morning (lovely blustery day). Spent the aft ironing/answering star wars questions/supervising card making/taking phone calls/listening to a podcast on inner peace (fat chance!).

galen the cake looks fab

wendyhappysmile · 15/11/2009 18:24

Recipe for cake, galen?! Looks wonderful. Must be in the air - I have had lots of arguments with DH. Hardly talking really!
Good ideas, Wolf on the thread - wish I could have the courage to be creative
Tea hope Minimad is on the mend?
scatty lighthouse sounds fab.
Ruby hope pain is manageable. I am sticking to my glam jump suit lol but need to lose the 3 lbs I have gained first!
EHM good to see you
leeloo Polish that halo!
We have been to the aquarium at Hull today - really great day. Everyone is tired now. DD is in bed already and DS is doing lego with DH. Hoping to finally colour my hair tonight between Dr Who and X Factor watching!
See you tomorrow

swanriver · 15/11/2009 18:39

Had a good day with only a bit of bickering I now think a good day starts with a kiss
church, walk in park, lunch out in a pub [definitely makes all the difference to good humour]
dcs practsed piano and violin after a lot of prcrstinating, bit more painting
and my idea of heaven a friend dropping round uninvited with her kids - so much easier than organised visits where you spend most of day tidying and getting cross when they are late
felt miles better for seeing someone other than family members
carbonara for tea, consumed and washed up
family advancing

Wolfcub · 15/11/2009 20:33

swan that sounds like a nice day.

forgot to post my done list

kitchen cleaned(ish)
washing up done
outside drain unblocked - gross
new chains and padlocks put on out back gate and street back gate owing to planned/attempted theft of paving slabs
milk bottles out

just doing a bit of crochet (for no other purpose than personal therapy) while watching x factor.

swanriver · 15/11/2009 23:07

crotchet's clever, Wolf!
Also dones today
more paperwork put in To Do Urgently section
forced dh to look at HIS paperwork
tidied dd's rooom
tidied drawers in ds2's room
hoover has expired again will check plug tomorrow [fingers crossed tis this]
swept kitchen floor (and washed yest)
tidied away clothes, hung and washed lots of 'em
cleaned two loos
swept garden path and hid leaves behind shrubs
made large batch of minestrone whilst others watched Dr Who and Space Chimps (dts find DrWh too frightening)
chatted to ds1 at length about tomorrow's plans because he was frightened by Dr Who and couldn't sleep - the boringness of tomorrow soon restored his spirits

Galen - hope weekend blues are not replaced by Monday feelings...
TM - hope you are getting some sleep with the virus in the house, and don't get it yourself.
Wendy - my dh definitely gets the same frustrated feeling - We have endless fights about what I should and shouldn't have achieved. I suppose in the end it's because like any job, we try and make it more interesting for ourselves and then we take on challenges, and those challenges do not involve just having the house tidy and the dinner ready and children all sweet and biddable. Anyway I don't really think many men just want to return to kids just tucked up in bed - they want to participate in their upbringing, talk to them and play with them, nor do they want us just stuck at home feeling utterly crushed by daily chores.
On the other hand ....they hate complaining. So if I say to dh - I've had such an exhaustng day he thinks I'm blaming him, of course I'm not...well sometimes I am ..I suppose I should rephrase it as "a bit wearing, but I enjoyed this and this"

Too much going round in circles really...
Goodnight everyone
