Mine have been up since before 6am tort I am shattered

ATortoiseisBetterThanABlackCat · 11/10/2009 08:07

That is worse that mine TM You have my sympathy.

swanriver · 11/10/2009 11:40

Dh was up at 7.30 with ds2, not so bad, but it was meant to be his morning to lie in, so he is fed up with me
I got up at 8.00 and took ds1 to church at 9.00 which was very nice.

Dh is in a bad mood, feeling thoroughly overworked and has taken kids to a film - so now I need to get on an do someting useful.
On the other hand, if I start something serious like dismantling bits of rubbish, he will return to chaos so that's not going to help...

confused

[pulls self together]
very very quick kitchen tidy (15 mins)
laundry put away
then go to dump
then do any ironing I can fit in

afternoon all

tort and TM sorry about your scarey moments yesteray.Hope DD and Ds OK now.

everyone-else hi

well I got up at 4.30 and went off to do car boot sale with DS1. Was there from 5.30 to 11.30. Sat in a cold field haggling with people for 50p... Still, managed to make £70 so better than nothing.
Got home cold and shattered to find dog hadnt been walked...and general chaos still everywhere...DH was meant to have dressed DD3 and 4 for a party - they both had each others dresses on with some bizzarre combination of socks and shoes...no time to change them though as already running late...
Feeling slightly peed off really.Feel like I am the only one capable of doing anything round here....from scrounging enough pennies to have any sort of Christmas to dressing the children to walking the dog...
Think I need a cuppa now and then to start on the washing mountain or DC will have no uniform for Monday...

BBL

swanriver · 11/10/2009 13:26

Galen - still...£70! that's pretty impressive. And helpful hardworking ds1
Lol at mixed up dds hope you can escape from house with dog shortly

have cleaned kitchen to basic level - why does it silt up so fast aargh and why is so slow to reboot, is it just me?
washed floor near petfood
wiped worktops
reloaded dw
hung out workshirts
put new load in
put away shopping
cat litter reboot

now TO THE DUMP IN CAR(get ivy from back garden (5th load that's why I keep mentioning it)

scattyspice · 11/10/2009 14:40

Hi all.

TM and Tort - sorry for horrible experiencs yest, hope all ok now.

Todays Mariella Fostfrop (in the Observer) sums it up I think. I'll try and link.

scattyspice · 11/10/2009 14:42

here.

swanriver · 11/10/2009 15:33

my link not working alas

DUMP done
Bulbs for spring bought, compost and smokeless fuel

now ironing to R2

swanriver · 11/10/2009 16:08

ah link works - gosh she's cross!

galen · 11/10/2009 16:59

swan yes DS1 was a star bless him...and yesI thought £70 wasn't bad, but DH seems to think it wasnt worth the trouble...(hmm that will be the trouble to him of having to mind the children I suppose....)
Anyway trying hard to shake my feelings of negativity and not let it permeate what's left of the wk/end (failing quite miserably though)
Have been shopping and bought a ouple of last minute reduced ready roasted chickens...pots in ovenand veg on... choc sponge and custard for poudding...Hoping nice dinner may dispel DH rapidly rising grumpy mood and mine...will see

Right now hiding in bedroom and going to read my positive affirmation cards for 5 mins...

May BBL when I am the new calm and positive me and grumpy irriatted sleep deprived mommy has vanished

Oh and scatty yes, very good article!

swanriver · 11/10/2009 17:22

dh has returned in a good mood and we have had a nice cup of tea together in kitchen
makes such a difference
dcs seem v. calm and are all playing independently, dd is actually writing a thankyou letter to her godmother

however have not even thought about tea will have to be scrambled eggs on toast

quite a bit of ironing done too
only downside is I have eaten several choc biscuits

dh now wants to build a glass cube onto side of house to put fridge/wellingtons/piano in . He says he will draw it up

grouchyoscar · 11/10/2009 17:27

Hello Again

Looks like DS2 has had a fab B'day, Well done Tort

I've been utter rubbish today. Another poo night's sleep, lurking cold and no rest yesterday meant I've been neither use nor ornament today. DH even took GOjr out to the shopping centre this aft.

Got his clothes out for morning, wrestled his reading homework out of him and made tomorrow's lunchboxes.

I'm a wreak

scattyspice · 11/10/2009 17:36

GO. You don't need to be useful or ornamental. Your very presence is all they need.

Swan - LOL perhaps we should write in and tell her that it's not house work it's homeblessing.

Been swimming this morning then this aft:
ironing
laundry
ds homework
make scones (decorated with smarties ) with DC

Now:
wash up
bathtime
sort out uniforms/PE kits/lib books/pack lunches/homework.
wine

SimplyWantsAMagicWandPlease · 11/10/2009 17:41

Oh dear go. I hope you feel better soon. {{hugs}}

swan I'm glad things have worked out ok for you today.

galen Well done on the car boot sale. I know it is tough with an early start and lots of sorting out beforehand, setting up, waiting around and taking the stuff left unsold home. £70 is useful though so well done you and ds1.

MC Wow at your dh having organised certain people to do certain things! I was all ready to leap to your defence if the need was there, you know!

Well, I took dd to the swimming pool with me today as I'd taken membership out for her, too. She tended to hang around after doing a couple of impressive lengths to begin with. A swimmer who was surely County standard came in and started swimmming. You should've seen her! She did three lengths for every 3 of mine. Amazing.

Right. I'm off to drink my cup of tea.

Hear, hear Ruby. I agree completely. Please take heart go.

Wolfcub · 11/10/2009 20:31

grouchy take it easy on yourself Mrs. We can only do what we can do. You've done homework, clothes and lunch. He's fed, clothed and educated and by doing those things you show your love. Don't make me come over there...

tea I hope ds is feeling a bit better today and that you are also taking it a bit easy.

love to all

Ruby what a lovely post to GO. I love this thread!
Hi all
Just back from Durham a couple of hours ago and watching X factor now. Had a lovely time, but I am truly shattered. I think that we are all doing too much around here, we all sound drained and tired out.
I love Mariella, btw! She's fab.
Tea how traumatic, hope he is OK? And you too.
Well, I am officially going to potter about tomorrow.
Oh, DD got a place at nursery mornings from January. I am feeling sad, as my life is going to really change. No more toddler group, or my morning activities. But I suppose change is progress.
Night night all, hope we are all feeling better tomorrow.

TeaMonster · 11/10/2009 20:56

Evening all

We have had a relaxing day today.

Go Stop it or I will have to bash you my dear. You are a fab mum, have a fab son and are just all round great.

Wolf It is lovely to have you back.

were is Wendy this weekend

galen I thunk you have done wonderfully well, if we make that next Sunday I will be well chuffed. Hope DH has took his head out of his arse.

Swan Oh I need pictures sounds well cool

Scatty Loved the article, but it is not like that here

Ruby How do you make a pinata? and glitter chocs - spill. I too have all the stuff to make candles in cups and keep checking out the charity shops for the cheap and inexpensive ones. Piced up 2 tiny blue and green ones for 60p yesterday and a lovely floral one for £1.50 (took the money from DS1's piggy bank )

Right - I am back, we will manage, it is going to be hard, but we will. Screw the bank. We are going to sell, sell, sell and work hard (well DH is) and just manage somehow

We have done the following today

Made Christmas and Autumn cards (to come on the blog over the next couple of weeks)
Made two jars of pasta sauce from ripened tomato's (still have a large amount of green in with a banana)
Had a lovely roast dinner
watched a movie all cuddled together

I love my family and that is all that matters

wendyhappysmile · 11/10/2009 21:45

Did we x posts tea or did you just miss me?

SimplyWantsAMagicWandPlease · 11/10/2009 21:46

TM (and anyone else who might want to take me up on this offer) - you are clearly very creative. How about trying some small scale writing to make a few bob? I have a subscription for three mags, Red, She and Prima. If you were interested, I could take a look at the letters pages to see what they give to the letter of the month and if you wanted to give it a try, I could tell you what articles/items they've featured each month and anything you think you'd like to write about, I could rip out and post it to you and you could send a letter (e-mail, most probably) in? It might be a weird idea but worth a mention?
