actingnormal I think you do what suits you & your family. We bath Ellie every night. On the odd occasion we don't if she is asleep or out late with us. But I find it helps her & me wind down. Isn't lovely when you meet with a friend & can actually talk
swan another on eating yummy things hope you managed to get rooms sorted. I put Ellie in bath at 430 last night as she was exhausted. She then ate her tea, brushed her tea & went to bed ok. Didn't stay settled though.
ruby how nice to spend time with friends.
wendy i get very clumsy before period. Sounds like dd is doing really well with toilet training. I still check with Ellie, I know when she needs even if she won't admit it as she is too busy having fun Hope period doesn't stay too long & isn't too grim.

Hi All
Very odd evening here. Ds seemed very worried tonight that robbers would come into the house. Very upset & crying that DH didn't come home as usual. He knows he went to football & hasn't been fussed before. Last night told me he remembered when he was a baby that I didn't leave the room until he was a sleep.
Tonight after being reassured that dad would come home and robbers wouldn't get into the house. He asked if I could stay until he feel asleep. How could I say no! Then when I thought he was asleep I got out of his bed, He woke up for a moment to say it was okay for me to leave as long as the door was left open all night (of course darling) He was suddenly grown-up. I think this week has been very exhausting. I had a brill plan that if I was at home he couldn't watch T.V because we would play together. Which we did & he enjoyed it but, I suspect changing the routine of not watching a bit of TV is too much. I think we will go back to half hour before bed. Best laid plans & all that.
Back in a mo going to polish his shoes!

Oh my I have been got by the Maths dragon help me

ActingNormal · 15/09/2009 20:29

Managed to get stuff done in the end. I definitely get 'warmed up' like some kind of reptile, as the day goes on. Done the following:

-pants and socks wash
-problem whites soak
-metal bits out of the oven soak
-clean oven
-clean bath and shower
-squirt carpet foam and scrub while hoovering
-school meeting about new class routines etc
-bubble bath for DS -
-while doing school reading book with DD
-bubble bath for DD -
-while doing school reading book with DS plus recognising his name exercises and using a pen more effectively exercises
-dishwasher
-iron DH shirt
-cook spag bog

OMG it works so much better to do each child's homework separately while the other one messes about in the bath. I didn't realise what a difference it would make without them distracting each other! DD read a whole book and DS focussed more than I've ever seen him focus!

Wolfcub · 15/09/2009 20:37

SimplyIsGoingToLearnToFLY · 15/09/2009 22:09

Good evening all.

Makingchanges I have a very good friend who is 7 yrs older than me. Whenever she felt bad about her age I'd say "Hey, in 10 yrs time, this number that you are now will feel young! It's just a number!" I don't think I'll give up my day job (ooops, don't have one atm!) to become a counsellor. Many moons ago I gave an "Over The Hill" mug to a work colleague on his birthday. I am now that age! He is now of retirement age.

EHM Impressive post, writing to everyone individually like that! Yep, I just love fruit and most salad stuff. If I was left alone in a room with it laid out ready for a BBQ or something, I'd have to be really strict with myself not to scoff most of it!

Wolfcub Sorry to hear about your tough day.

Ok. Time for bed. Nos da. Good night.

Jas · 15/09/2009 22:51

Hello.

I am sorry I am not posting/reading on here properly any more.....I really do miss it, but with dp mostly out of work and at home everything has gone to pot.

He is making serious efforts to find a regular job, even though he will hate it, as things are getting desperate nw

Added to which, his dad died yesterday. Not entirely unexpected, but still a sad event The children are teary and I am left trying to negotiate his family (fairly dysfunctional at the best of times) and arrange some kind of funeral.....

Anyone fancy giving me a very un-mn (and unJas-like) hug??

Jas · 15/09/2009 22:55

Makingthechanges - Just skimmed the thread...I turned 40 on Sunday. My 30s have been a very happy time in my life, not "old" at all. I hope you can enjoy your birthday, and look forward t the great things to come
