Gave up trying to do much indoors, and subsequently

took ds1 for a lunchtime run out of school - I felt like some sort of personal trainer for slack kids lol
bought extra PE kit
and a skirt for brother's wedding this weekend (and moss green sash material as instructed for bridesmaid dd)
and some smart shoes that fit (hate hate shopping for shoes but only have one pair at moment apart from hiking boots...)

took kids to gp for ds1 wrist assessment and got referral to check it
paprika mince smmering (sounds horrid - hope it isn't)
baked pots in oven
kids watching their thurs tv (trying to reimpose Mon - Wed ban hmm hmm hmm)

no homework yet hurrah hurrah or violin lessons so I should just relax....

wendyEnjoy your new phone. Hope you have a better day tomorrow with DS.
starbearThanks for thread. I am restarting excercise once Ellie returns to PS on 14th. I've got bits that I didn't have before. Noticed this in my bikini on holiday
scatty swanoh I would get stressed with the painter too-its so difficult when somebody is doing stuff in your house. especially when it doesn't go to plan-take deep breathes
teahope you had a better day with dh.they can't be perfect all the time life would be so boring
jasI need to restart too-lost all interest in this house though!
grouchy I am loving Economy Gastronomy.good to read Ed enjoyed school.
leosorry I to late for suggestions for lamb. I always either slower cooker or roast for long time-sometimes do curry
wolfis the book worth buying? hope you enjoyed your lunch break & bought tea tonight.
bythepower hope you are ok?

Anyway fly wise did pretty well today and have made roasted lamb with salad for dinner.

lovely pic prof
yes scatty, how did you guess, ds is 4!
Apologies for my horrid rant earlier, it must have sounded like I hate my DS, he was really winding me up. Truly I don't want him to go to school, I wish I could keep him at home forever, I just think that he gets the space at school to be a boy more than he does with me and DD - if that makes sense! I am not feeling particularly like a fluffy mummy atm, more like Victorian mum - which isn't good!
Need to go and make lots of lemon drizzle cake for a friend's baby's christening.
New phone very swish, don't understand it yet!
See you all later

evening all ehm wendy the book is good, actually better than the series, and I read it cover to cover in one evening which is usually a good sign. There are 8 fish recipes, one veggie pasta sauce and 6 purely veggie recipes in the bedrock section. The rest are all meat. In the lunch section there is 1 veggie recipe and two others that could easily be made veggie by the omission of ham/bacon. The midweek supper section has 2 veggie and 1 fish recipe. The something out of nothing section has a lively looking veggie curry selection, a nice veggie salad thing, a spinach tortilla, and an interesting looking veggie pasta/minestrone type thing. No veggie recipes in the homemade takeaway section and 1 fish recipe and no veggie ones in the Gastropubonomy section. The friends for dinner section has veggie sushi, carrmelized onion and chees tart - which I have tried and like and a butternut tagine.

grouchy will email the recipe

done

picked up ds
put diesel in the car

Thanks wolf! I will def have a look at it in Waterstones I think! I like this idea of bedrock recipes, and suppose I do use them myself, just never thought of it like that.
Are you ok?

Hi All

Mad day here with a testing DD. It took her 2 hours to eat a sandwich today and I'm feeling like a bad mummy after getting irritated at her.

Managed to get a couple of loads of washing done and a bit of an assignment thats due in soon.
Risked the rain and picked up some shopping and bits and pieces that were needed.
Also managed to make a fresh loaf and a nice chilli for tea.

Now DD has gone to bed I'm off to mop the floors and do some ironing. So much for a quiet night with DH

Prof loved the photo & yes I missed youWhere are you off to with the girls?
I'm another Economy Gastronomy fan,but I forgot to buy eggs today to make any cookies or fairy cakes with myself as I promised DS. Not planning on paying a fortune at London Zoo. £10 a hotdog
swan I hate having people, including DH, working on the house while I'm at home but the results will be worth it. Just made a contract with DS that he can watch T.V with Gran on Tues & Thurs No telly on Mon & Fri when I'm at home and I promise to play games with him. Wed swimming with gran so no time for T.V. Keep you posted if it works.
ByThePowerOfGreyskull Going to join you on Monday. Plans to get my act together from Monday.
scatty Might pop to Asda for boxes are they nice? Going to sort out Ds room during the coming months.
See ya later

wendy I'm fine thank you for asking. Getting back into the rhythm of work after a week off and ds has not been too bad. Even managing a few household jobs here and there so I can't complain. Looking forward to the next time us flygirls can get together.
prof glad you had a good time, love the pic with mickey and minnie
tea I hope you have a restful night
