I've been putting it off for ages but the painted woodwork (esp skirting boards) really needs cleaning - what do you use on yours??? TIA!

sugar soap

CybilLiberty · 29/08/2009 14:50

Sugar soap according to Kim and Aggie. But a quick shufty over with a baby wipe normally suffices in my house.

MrsDinky · 29/08/2009 22:49

A damp e-cloth shifts most things off paintwork.

thumbwitch · 29/08/2009 22:50

sugarsoap if you're going to repaint it, otherwise I tend to use a little bit of jif cif on a wet cloth.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 29/08/2009 22:52

wet cloth or sugar soap.

TeaOneSugar · 30/08/2009 10:29

Damp microfibre cloth or Stardrops if it needs a bit more help.

purepurple · 30/08/2009 10:30

washing up liquid diluted in lots of hot water
this works for floors, walls, and windows too

BonsoirAnna · 30/08/2009 10:31

Very dilute Flash or Cillit Bang with a e-cloth, after first hoovering with a brush attachment to get the dust off.

fatjac · 30/08/2009 11:01

Stardrops

OllieWollieWoo · 31/08/2009 20:13

Damp cloth with Cit / Fairy Liquid - depending upon how bad the marks are!

Toppy · 04/09/2009 20:44

babywipes all the way

mathanxiety · 05/09/2009 21:21

Babywipes -- also very good for furniture like desks, chests of drawers, kitchen chairs, especially if they have moisturiser.

fruitstick · 05/09/2009 23:00

How about walls? Whenever I try to get marks off the walls it seems to take the paint off too.

MaureenMLove · 05/09/2009 23:02

Liquid soda crystals. Wicked stuff.
