Well I have had a lovely day due to abandoning house and heading out into the urban blue yonder (and [quivers with excitement] shopping for useful items
Done
ds1 singing lesson - he CAN sing, but is sticking his neck out too much when hits high notes and seizng up [these wretched school bellowing sessions]
long chat with singing friend
chips
bus with dcs
some smart Granma friendly apparel selected for dcs
some books selected for dcs
dd kept pointing out fancy ladies' shoes to me "look mummy there are some high heels for you" {she is now desperate for me to be more glamorous] but avoided.

We are off to a German city on Friday for a family birthday reunion, so I suppose I do need to tidy house eventually.

LBB - head wounds lots of blood seem very scary even when superficial - and I think your reaction to hold him close was brilliant
Wolf - ah but office life though petty and tiresome has got a buzz of its own
TMH - I think you aren't TOO nice to them, just perfect. They are shouty at that age (and I'm shouty at my age too unfortunately) which is torture with headache. I suppose men just get in grumps of their own, there is no avoiding it. And the bedtime handling is a familiar story [sigh]

Swimming is a great panacea - well done ds1.

Now I need a cup of tea. Desperately. I can hardly shout even.

hi all - I heart my new bread bin It is huge and my canisters sit on top and all of a sudden I only have a breadbin, kettle, toaster and coffee machine on the worktop on one side of my kitchen. No clutter or anything.

Evening all.
Thanks for well-wishes for ds1. He is fine, the actual cut looks a bit pathetic now so hopefully won't scar too badly.
I managed to do 2 15min sessions in my living room to make up for not doing it yesterday and I reckon 15 mins tomorrow hoovering should do it for this room.

tm Sorrento in May, decided to go for the foreign option after all. Had to cancel the appt I had booked with the lovely hotel you found but the whole concept of having to get involved in the preparations of a wedding here became far too stressful for me!

A york meet up sounds like a fantastic idea. I am off work for a week at the end of August if that fits in with plans, otherwise I could take a day off.

Very pleased with myself for doing all the packing including some ironed clothes

and have swept and mopped floor in kitchen
cleared out some fridge horrors

so all that is left on my list (she said optimistically) is
TOMORROW
mow lawn
catfeeding arrangements
bank acct
cancel milkman (need to write a note NOW)
holiday insurance from high street
last batch of washing put on
tidykitchen
buy jeycloths
buy catfood
eat fruit and potatoes in fridge
take birthday cards for Grandma
tomorite the pots, and plant the asters
oh and read guide to Berlin a bit (NOW)

Ds2 has got madder as the day progressed. I think he heaves a sigh of relief when we put him to bed - thinks - thank goodness don't have to be silly anymore. Dd has been a treasure packing her suitcase, and so sensible too. Ds1 hs been v. calm and done lots of reading.

now to write note to milkman

Sorrento sounds bliss Wolf.
Next year I am determined to get to Italy again.
Dh speaks fluent Italian but refuses to go there except on business trips
