JKS I think thats a fab philosophy i've been up there with Darcie everyday since friday hehe

she loves it, has her own dedicated bar stool and everything lol, also orders her own orange juice from the bar staff.
Its our local and its a lovely quiet family pub, I know the owner and nearly all the bar staff.

Its the pub quiz tonight, we will not be doing well as DP doesn't answer any questions.

TrillianAstrahasaJOB · 30/06/2009 11:35

Hi all, just popping in to say hi. Why does DP not answer any questions at the pub quiz Muppets? Is he scared of getting it wrong?

I am temping still today but leaving at lunchtime to go to the pub for a leaving lunch for a friend from the lab. I expect the beer garden will be packed!

MuppetsMuggle · 30/06/2009 11:39

TA He doesn't know any of the answers, they are quite difficult - i'm proud that I am smart enough to answer some of them lol.
He doesn't really read tbh, has no interest in history or anything. One of the questions last week was

Which was the last reigning monarch from the House of Hannover?

Now to me this was an easy question the answer being Queen Victoria but DP had no idea.

Hi all, just popping in as am at my parents' for the week. Have only skimmed a few of the messages but alice's possible news caught my eye! When you test can you post the result in caps so I don't miss it?!

Haven't got a proper list but have loaded/unloaded dishwasher, hoovered downstairs, mopped their kitchen and utility room floors, wiped all the cat food off the utility room walls (it was minging and STANK of catfood), washed the cat beds and washed the nappies today so fairly productive

TrillianAstrahasaJOB · 30/06/2009 16:15

What's alice's possible news? I have failed to read through. Is it another baby? (I assume all MN 'big news' is babies unles told otherwise )

I got to hold a 5-week-old baby today and I was scared. Silly me

alicecrail · 30/06/2009 16:41

Hey everyone

We have had a lovely day at the beach, but i had never noticed that it smelt soooo bad I have also got a bit sunburnt DD wasn't interested in the sand, just wanted to go in the sea good old DH

I'm thinking that if i don't come on by monday then i am assuming i am and pointless to do a test, may as well just book in at drs, unless they need you to test first? Though i am also thinking that if i do a test tomorrow then it would probably be quite accurate, so i am umming and ahhing over it.

List:
Do horses
Dry washing
Cook dinner
Finish painting last alcove
Pull out sofas and tidy/hoover
Shampoo carpet
Wash throws and cushion covers
DD bath and bed

Plum I can see our lovely pub from my balcony window

CWWM In regards to your mum I really do think you need to be strong for your DBro and take him to your mums pack a bag of his belongings and have him stay at yours whilst you work on helping him get a place to stay, get on his feet with college and finding a job. I agree with doing the RSPCA foster thing for his dog until he is settled, he needs this as you've said he's totally different he's full of life when hes not around her.

JustKeepSwimming · 30/06/2009 18:15

DH to dress DS for bed, give him bedtime feed & put to bed

MuppetsMuggle · 30/06/2009 18:20

Well we are not going to pub quiz now DP feels ill and has gone to his mothers straight from work, can't you tell shes back off holiday she phoned DP this morning and said she'd got him some hayfever tabs and he told her i'd already got him some I think she ignored that and said your dinner for tonight is.... then phoned me all apologetic saying won't be round as going to mummys even tho he knew I was cooking his fav dinner tonight before we went out he didn't have the balls to stand up to his mother and it realy bugs me, shes trying to keep hold of him and he's 31 FGS.

jenduck · 30/06/2009 18:34

My sympathies Muppets, in my (limited)experience DPs do feel unable to let go of Mammy's apron strings, and MILs even less so. I just console myself by thinking about all the things DH has done (uni, travelling, tasted new foods etc) since being with me, so I guess that means I'm a catalyst for that. (BTW I do like my MIL, just dislike the way she insists she knows DH best - tell me I'm not going to be like this with my DS!)

Is there not a friend you can go to pub quiz with - make the most of a planned night out & your extensive general knowledge?
