afternoon ladies!

greyskull hope you got a nap. Hope things go smoothly with your Mum. My Mum often makes me feel inadequate etc... BUt I do know that she doesnt mean it, doesnt do it out of meaness etc...just kind of thoughtless a bit! Again though she is a lovely granny! And actually is very kind.
swan oh your fridays sound lovely - a whole day to yourself! hope you fit some pampering time into your day!
gib Hi
And anyone I missed Hi!

Well hairdressers and parties and snow white and dressing up and cutting out and camping all played with DD4 so far (and no I didnt let her near my hair with the scissors LOL)
Am totally exhausted really now and could quite do with it being bed time for all"! feel like I've put in a full day already!
Still never mind!
DD to nursery in a bit...then playing with Ds - who seems to be developing his tantruming skills already...sigh...
Then washing away
then....
will see how how I get on!

Afternoon all

Galen I will be your FB friend. Find me in the MN group, I will try and find you in a minute.
The kitchen floor is nearly finished They're even leaving the giant hired dehumidifier for us for the weekend, should get rid of all the damp in the whole flat it's that good!!
Need to go and get Dd from school in a minute and then we'll get the kitchen back together. At least I also now know how easy it is to unplug and pull out the gas cooker to clean behind nd under it.

Anyway I'd better get moving. I've also done the Tesco shop on-line today so not completely useless.

That just proves that cleaning isn't always a good thing profiterole

Greyskull - sympathies for you with your mum. Mine doesn't make me feel inadequate as such, she just reckons that I am not nearly as busy as her, what with being a childminder so at home most days At least you are prepared for it so you can prepare to switch off when she starts

Glad you are sounding more positive Laura, I was in a similar boat yesterday, too much to do, not enough time but am getting there today.

Hope your floor gets sorted soon shannara, what a nightmare!

Enjoy your visitors Swan.

Gibbberish - are you going for your usual colour or a complete change? Hope you have a nice relaxing day at the hairdressers.

Dylsmum - that is one impressive list!!

Galen - Is amazing how much more tiring the kids are than housework isn't it?!

Anyway, today I have been very productive, I have:

Crisis cleaned all rooms
Bleached the bathroom from top to bottom
3 loads of washing
Sorted ironing pile
Wiped down sofa
Attempted to clean my tea stained carpet again, it didn't work...again
Hoovered all rooms
Made brownies with my before school kids
Tip run
Collected ds from nursery
Washed cusion covers
Polished piano
Made spare beds
Brushed the sofa cusions (they're fluffy)

Need to clean car, clean garden front and back but I think I will leave that til tomorrow now.

Phew, am knackered!!

TheMadHouse · 08/05/2009 17:25

Evening all

I have had a really odd day today, have not been able to leave the boys alone. They have been monsters.

We went straight out after dropping DS! at Preschool and got a bit of shopping and collected a friend and her children.

Lunch was manic and friends DS1 was sick [sad}

Friend hoovered whole house including the stairs for me - she is such a great friend

Not much else done, apart from some washing and DS2's bed changed

Dinner is in the oven
DH has brought home 10 bags of compost

I am so glad it is the weekend.

galen Search using my name - no one else is called it

Prof and yeh new table. I love our table it came from Cargo home stores

Waves to everyone else.

Also shocking news today and really sad. Corus is mothballing the steel plant in the area at a loss of over 2000 jobs I really feel for those people. We know loads of people employeed by it and all the people who are members of my Brothers club are employees , so we are praying that they too manage to keep afloat

TheMadHouse · 08/05/2009 18:23

Groucy I saw this and though of you, well Ed to be precise

wendyredkitchenredspots · 08/05/2009 18:30

Hi all

I am officially frazzled! My life is in complete disarray - boxes full of junk everywhere, all the important things all muddled up and nothing has a place yet. Kitchen needs a couple of cupboard units taking out so we can comfortably fit our table in it, this hasn't been done yet and the garage fit to burst!

My children have been horrid horrid today (double horrid!) - they are tired as they are not sleeping as well here, it is lighter due to no black out blinds (have the linings, but can't put the blinds because of tilt and turn windows). I have done nothing but shout for the past hour and DS in particular has done nothing but whinge and whine all day, won't settle to anything and can't concentrate. GRR

Can you tell I am feeling a bit down!

On the plus, it's lovely to be back and 'see' you all.

Mad will email you my address. Glad you are ok although it sounds like your dc are like mine today! Bad news on the Corus plant
Prof new table not no more nails!!!
Galen sorry to hear you also down - go and see another GP and try and get some sense out them. That one you saw sounds rubbish!
grouchy My DH is a governor, it's seems interesting! Hi and hope you are feeling good atm
Swan hope visitors good - you sound super busy today
Laura Chloe hi - I'm not new but been away for a fortnight almost due to moving house and no broadband - welcome to you both - isn't it so friendly and fab on here
dyls you sound very busy too - in fact I don't know how we all do it! DH asked me when he got home if I had managed to get a rest today
Greyskull sympathies on your mum - my Nan (sadly no longer with us) was just like that and so am I in my bad moments (i.e. today ) I HATE myself when I am like it.

Well sorry to all I missed - will see you soon - so nice to be back

wendyredkitchenredspots · 08/05/2009 18:46

Mad I've just been reading old threads to try and catch up. Seems like you are having a bad time of it still - so you are not really ok, sorry, and sorry I wasn't around to support you.

dylsmum1998 · 08/05/2009 19:13

wendy i have been very busy today, and am now exhausted could fall asleep already, except i have just collected dc from their friends

i saw a lovely old unit in oxfam today, its solid oak, someone has tried to paint it a horrid colour and then rubbed it down by the look of it, still has lots of work needed on it. i measured it and came home and measured my "gap" (well not a gap but where i would have made one for it ) and its still not big enough

swanriver · 08/05/2009 19:15

my post has disappeared
dh has found pseud's rigatoni from tesco
hope your dh's ex's house was very badly run TP
mopped

Galen, I am on facebook but have no friends except my sister, as have never quite understood how to use it, or even contact her on it...and for some reason it wanted to give me all her friends, who I do NOT WANT.
Can't even remember whether you use a real name or a pseudonym?

galen · 08/05/2009 19:57

mad sounds like you've had a rough day with your boys. YAY for lovely friend doing the hoovering. Those srt of friennds are truly wonderful arent they.Hope you get to have nice family time with your dH at weekend. Will try searching for you again on FB

wendy moving with children ahs to truly be one of lifes WORST experiences! (trust me I have moved 7 times since first having children, including once when DD4 was just 5 days old !)So dont be hard on yourself. Remember little steps! You will get there. And the DC will settle and adapt soon enough.....and one day you'll realise it was all worth it and what a lovely family home you have hang in there. Hope you get to have anice weekend and take it easy a bit.
Oh and yes the GP was rubbish (although is very sound on physical problems) - trouble is it is a single GP practice Holding out hope for my app in June!

dlys sorry unit didnt work out - sounds nice. Will try adding you as FB friend!

swan you sound about as competant as me on FB - thought I was the only one LOL

Well feeling totally exhausted now. not doing much else this evening. Looking forward to some reinforcements (my parents) tomorrow.

DH will be at BIL's wedding right about now. Missing him today... I need a hug! Still only a few days to go!
Have good evenings all
see you tomorrow

swanriver · 08/05/2009 20:04

was that a little typist typing Wolfcub?

Just wanted to say I'm sorry about the steel plant TMH. Is that the biggest employer in your area?

Wendy hope they are sleeping now and you have some peace. It's the going round in circles isn't it, no time to sort out something like blinds, or table because of kids, and then kids behave worse because of blinds and table etc etc..

Now have to get ahead again for tomorrow. Dh is in an exceedingly good mood after a business lunch, which is worrying because it probably means tomorrow he will have a hangover and be useless.

To do
tidy playroom again
put up dining table
find dustbin liners
make some almond shortbread
prepare some of food, roasted peppers and mint courgette salad
iron jumpers
hoover dd's room while she is in bath
remake our bed

OP posts:
swanriver · 08/05/2009 20:10

I'm sure your dh is thinking of you at the wedding Galen. Have you lived long at your present house - 7 moves sounds truly heroic?
Hope your mum and dad make the weekend pass swiftly and they look after you.

TheMadHouse · 08/05/2009 20:12

Hi all

Yes the steel plant is one of the biggest employers in the area. We knew the score when we moved back. It is a wonderful area for the children to grow up in, but employment is few and far between and mainly industrial. It is a bautiful part of the country and more jobs should be based here.

Def a mad day, but looking forward to the weekend and I have opened the JD (I havent had a drink since before chistmas). We are working through our issues, little at a time and we still love each other dearly.

galen I am thinking of you and sending a very un MN hug) I am sure DH will be thinking of you too.

Wendy galen is right regarding the moving, also they pick up on your tension big time - I think mine are feeding on mine

phew - I am off to cuddle now
