We're re-designing ours at the moment, so would like your ideas on what your ideal utility room would have in it.

So far on my list is:

sink to soak clothes in
washing basket with 3 sections for darks, lights and colours
sheila's maid
iron and ironing board hook
bin for all the crap out of Dh's pockets

anybody got any more ideas?

Enough room to keep all the recycling baskets, Cupboard for ironing board, hoover, brooms etc. Sink, washing m/c, tumble dryer, large freezer, sheila's maid.

Warm coloured tiles with a washable floormat (I like the ikea ones).

Also lots of shelves for washing powder, small tool kit and lots of other bits and pieces.

LOL xfabba, we had actually discussed a clothes chute as our en-suite is directly above the utility, but ruled it out as not being terribly child friendly!!

WHat's an ELFA space storage solution ?

Liking the george Clooney/Denzel Washington ideas, but would have to be Daniel Craig for me!!

a shoot to send the dirty laundry down, and a door to an airing cupboard in which it magically reappears folded, ironed and sorted.

shoot? it is chute isn't it?

This is ELFA. It's not amazing but it is versatile and pretty organised... I want it in our utility so that I can utilise all the wall space and use the room as a pantry as well.
