Hi All

I just wanted to say thankyou to everyone who was so wonderful yesterday.

I am feeling a little more positive, although unable to sleep. DH and me have had a little chat - I couldnt handle more than that. He says he still loves me deeply and is very angry at how things have turned out.

We never prepared for the reconstruction not to work and he feels like I have been butchered. He wants to work at it, so that is a positve thing anyway.

Anyway enough about me and I must try and get some sleep.

Hello all xx

Happy Birthday EHM hope you have a great day

Happy Birthday to Bianca too for yesterday....hope the parties went well!

Hello to simply lovely to hear from you! glad everything is ok with you x (you are still ironing too! )

I'm at a bit of a loose end today! My dh has taken all the kids in to town to do a food shop and stuff. My dear friend from college is comming to see me anytime soon, I haven't seen her for a couple of years, or her little boy for that matter so I'm chuffed to bits she is popping in.
Just kind of ligging about until she gets here really!
House is already tidy

Hello and happy Sunday -

TMH - all sound good. Being a newbie I wouldn't presume to know what you (or anyone else) has been up against, but the main thing is it sounds like you are feeling less alone and stronger in your relationship. So bring on the emotional recovery. It's a lovely feeling when you find the two of you coming back together as a unit, isn't it?

Is there a birthday girl in our midst then?? Have a fab day and indulge yourself!

Galen defintiely a week to cut coners without a doubt when you have the 6 on your own!!! omg. But I bet at the end of it, you'll find it wasn't nearly as dreadful as you imagined and that you'll see just what a fab parent you are to handle it all and more. If it starts getting frazzled, I'd be going down the gin and tonic route of an evening - or maybe that's just my weakness!!

Had a lovely lay-in this morning, as I'm a bit of an insomniac and my body clock is all over the place.

Off to:
Put out my hot spots
Swish and swipe bathrooms
Put wash on
Go to buy trellis for playhouse and plant new climbers

I think we may have secured a babysitter for tongiht, so looking forward to a little 'us' time with dp. bfn. x

Hi luda. We walked past your house on Fri evening (as it was getting dark - we just about got off the fields behind you and onto the tarmac road before it got too dark to walk the dog safely). Dh pointed out your house to me so I reckon I should be able to find it should I ever visit! (Am almost completely unable to find anywhere without about 3 goes and several phone calls!) Ds was one of those performing nearby to you. Will drop you an e-mail.

Right. I think I've FINALLY finished the preparation thing with the iron. Gee whizz - talk about taking a long time. I can't believe they seriously expect us to have the iron plugged in to let the water evaporate when it takes 2 hours or more!

Anyway...dh has been working all morning and so has ds (a paid errand for someone) and dd has just gone to work (waitressing). Dd made me laugh this morning. She suggested throwing a sickie so that she could watch her football team playing this afternoon! She was joking, though I hope.

Simply · 03/05/2009 14:44

Hang on a mo! I typed hear a few posts ago instead of here! I do know the difference, honestly!

I've done two of the items on my list. I'd better crack on with a couple more, probably the b/d cards. The reminders which keep popping up on my e-mail account are really getting on my nerves now!

grouchyoscar · 03/05/2009 15:04

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EHM Have a fab fab day to you with cake and wine and fab things

DONE

Divide the rocky road crunch into bars
Sweep kitchen (ewwwh)
Mop Kitchen ( at the colour of water, so grim I had to flush it down the loo couldn't risk the neighbours seeing that)
Vac front Room
Vac the fire
Vac staircase and landing
Vac bathroom
Clean the loo
Clean the bathroom
Dust the bedroom
Bring down clean dry washing
Bring up the stepladders from the cellar
Change a lightbulb on the staircase

Ask DH if he know we have a vac, iron, mop and bucket, cleaning cloths or a loo brush. 'Yeah, why?' 'Just wondered as I'm the only one who seems to use them.' Tsk Tsk Grouchy you narky moo' Get back in the knife drawer.

Ooh, tried a budget beauty treatment on my (very neglected) hands and feet, indulge me while I share it.

Make a paste of sugar and oil - Demerara in sunflower is good, I did whitworths in EVA as it was all I had to hand

Use as a body scrub on hands and feet and wipe off

Apply a hand cream/body lotion (whatever you have lurking about)

Put on rubber gloves, wrap feet in plaggy b ags

Plunge into the hottest water you can stand for 5-10 mins

Remove gloves/chuck bags and rub in more cream

Ta-daah soft feet and hands

15 mins pamper I'm sure Kelly would approve of.

Right, back having a rest (again, you slattern!) BBL

Ludaloo · 03/05/2009 15:32

Ah....simply I too take a long time to figure directions! How did your ds do?

GO I like the sound of your beauty tips!

I have been in the garden for most of the day. My friend didn't make it in the end have to arrange another day.

scattyspice · 03/05/2009 18:08

Hi all. Another sunny day .

Mad - you and dh sound like a rock steady pair .

Galen - hope day 1 is going ok (fingers crossed).

Luda - shame about your friend.

Simply - that iron sounds very complicated .

EHM - Happy birthday!

Grouchy - I bet you have sandle ready feet now!

Hi all others.

Today:
laundry
ironing (1st pile)
DC to party
cleaned up patio and potted up tubs with lavendar etc .
DS homework

Also DC cleaned all the doors with a plant sprayer (filled with water) and a cloth!

Now - washing up and cuppa on my 'new' patio .

galen · 03/05/2009 18:12

Evening all
mad glad you're feeling more positive about things. it will take time but you nad DH sound so strong I'm sure you'll get through this.

everyone-else Hi! and thanks for words of encouragement for week ahead!

(sorry for lack of individuals - brain frazzled tonight!)

Well Dh went off at 7am, so have survived first day - almost LOL. DH worked away from home Mon-Sat when we first moved back here for 2 months , and I was fine with the (then 5)DC on my own, just feeing not quite up to it at the mo I guess! I agree about cutting corners, will not be a week for my perfectionism I fear!
There is a sort of sense of freedom too though, may do lots of things I wouldnt normally like letting DC eat pizza in front of TV Sure we'll muddle through some how! I started as I mean to go on today and bought the Dc a new DVd to give myself an hours peace LOL

Other than that things fine here. Dropped Ds1's friend home - they had a fab time hich is good.
Roast pork for dinner, some left for pork and apple casserole tomorrow!
littlies all bathed and PJ'd already - now watching new DVD yay!

Have also ordered mobile broadband package - excited but hope it works LOL

Hope you're all having a nice BH
See you all tomorrow

galen · 03/05/2009 18:13

galen · 03/05/2009 18:14

scattyspice · 03/05/2009 19:39

Hi luda. Sorry to hear that your friend couldn't make it in the end. I hope you can meet up soon. Ds' group came first in one of the performances so they each got a tenth share of the prize money. They also came first in another performance and that money is going towards an item the school needs.

scattyspice I wondered if they left a bit out with the English translation tbh. When I had a bilingual au pair here, she'd often notice an error between the text of her two native languages if she saw something written in both. Anyway.... the iron seems to be working well and I'm making progress through the ironing pile.

galen I'm pleased to hear that the first day has gone ok. A neighbour is looking after his two for a few days whilst his dw is away. They've eaten out every meal time bar breakfast, I think!

Nice to hear that you had a good day with the b/d girl today, TMH.

Right. We have dd's friend staying over tonight so I need to find the bedding. See you tomorrow maybe!

Wolfcub · 03/05/2009 21:46

Right my wonderful gorgeous girls, firstly sorry for being a shite flyfriend lately, I will improve. I miss you lot so much when I'm not posting properly but I just have not had the energy lately. New job comes with a significant set of complex issues (mainly staff related) which is currently taking all my brain power to try and wade through, plus ds is being testing to say the least.

mad I think after all you have been through feeling down and depressed is a very reasonable reaction. I know it's different, but the whole shock followed by unbelievable relief followed by depression and relationship difficulties I can understand - i/we went through similar after ds was born but it took us much much much longer to have "the chat" and start working on putting things right. It shows how amazing you are and how strong and how amazing your dp is that you are facing this, talking through it and working on it - it shows that you have a very healthy relationship and are strong and bonded as a couple - wolf hands amateur psych hat back to prof

grouchy tell Boris to feck right off from me. You need to take it easy this weekend my lovely and send the bastard back into hibernation. If he doesn't feck off shortly I shall be over there with whisky and chocolate cake

manic cleaning session friday and yesterday. Dp had quite a nice birthday yesterday (if you ignore the cleaning part) and we had a nice meal out thanks to lovely babysitter looking after ds.

Went to Whitby this afternoon, it was manic and we've only just got home but I love that place it makes me feel much better being by the sea.

happy birthday ehm galen good luck on your own for a week - there is nothing wrong with frozen pizza!

In my cleaning frenzy this weekend I tried out a homemade furniture polish recipe from money saving expert - water, olive oil and lemon juice in a spray bottle. My wood furniture has come up lovely!

Wolfcub · 03/05/2009 21:46

forgot to say welcome back simply it's good to see you again

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 03/05/2009 21:52

Hi All,
just popping in to book mark for tomorrow.

Sorry things aren't going well for you - you have been sooo strong - sending you positive loving vibes.

Will get back in the saddle next week, and in 2 weeks time I get my new pooter so will be back with gusto!

Night all

swanriver · 03/05/2009 21:59

Hello, everyone.

Galen, just remember we are all here if you feel overwhelmed.

We've had a great trip to the other side of London, seeing cousins and old friends, picnic in park, two visits to two friends' houses and loads of catching up! A perfect day really apart from the to be expected tantrum from dd at the end of it. Which took about I hour and I/2 of screaming to resolve. bleugh.
But she's now tucked up and fast asleep, so tomorrow is another day. And we had had such nice day too .

Kitchen is tidy
load of laundry done
fish and chips for supper eaten!
Now I need some fruit juice and some telly.

Jas · 04/05/2009 07:30

Morning all

DP is at work I'm hoping this is the start of things t come, and I can get back into FLYing and catch up properly with you all. For now I am going to do basic FLYlists though, so sorry for lack of chat.

The huse hasn't suffered too much for non FLYing as I've srt of stuck to my morning routine, and dp is (IMO) a clean freak so he made sure stuff was done.

Today I will:

Bath all 3 dc
hoover
mop
wash clothes x2
clean kitchen surfaces
declutter and start to empty old bathroom
15 mins each dds room
go out to local park
buy milk.

I hope.

BBL
