Hope you ladies & your lo's are all well?

TheMadHouse · 24/03/2009 09:17

morning all

Wow yesterday was hardwork and I spent 3 hours of it asleep upstairs wilst mum kept the boys entertained

I am waiting for the hospital to ring me back, as I have some increased pain and also some weaping again from left wound. Fingures crossed it is not an infection.

I am going to take DS2 to toddlers this morning and then collect DS1 from preschool.

Mum is coming again this afternoon to mop the floors and do a general tidy for me

Both boys are at playgroup for an 1 45 mins at one, so I can have a sleep then.

Ruby Pants lucky with the car.

Groucy well done on keeping boris in his box

Flame Hello, dont worry about the book

I have to go to the breat clinic this lunchtime as they have just rang back

X PST MAD

Right you really do need to take it easy [folds arms and hides duster]

TheMadHouse · 24/03/2009 09:29

OK Sag and EHM I will take things easy. all I did yesterday was strip a couple of beds and that knackered me (I love that word)

DH is going to come to the hospital with me, as the Consultant is an oncologist, so I am now worried about the pathology results . I am sure it will be OK, but IO am feeling that way out

EHM Sorry I did get your text, but I had missplaced my phone so didnt get it till really late in the day GO to the chemist and get some Lactelose for Ellie - otherwise this pooing is going to become a habit and that is that last thing you need. HHave you found a house to rent yet?

Phew!!!

EHM · 24/03/2009 09:32

swanriver · 24/03/2009 09:35

Just been distracted by nice ladies on One new habit at a time thread

Last night ds2 slept in a sleeping bag (pink sleepover type) and slept till 7.45 instead of 6.30 shock hurrah. What a breakthrough, he is such a wriggly child and keeps coming into our bed wide awake TOO early saying he is cold (despite being covered in blankets and duvets) SO I RECOMMEND SLEEPING BAGS to all parents of young and old. So he was refreshed rather than volatile this morning, and so were we.

However, Dd came in at 7.00am, fully dressed in uniform(she usually has to be dragged out at 8.00am)to show us her toothfairy money (£1).

Dh has taken children to school as they were ready so early and in such good spirits.

Both son and daughter did vp, nicely.
Ds2 played with rockets.

So all is well.

EHM, I can remember that exercise did help the poowatch. I think the problem is that just when they want to go, is usually not a convenient time (ie: park, playground) and they can sense it, then they hold off and the natural rhythm is lost. When you want them to go, ie: at home, is not when they choose and no amount of patience will make anything happen.
I think you just have to go out, know where the nearest loo is, and be prepared to run, and be prepared for lots of accidents. It is very frustrating.

EHM · 24/03/2009 09:41

TMH not a problem about txt. I was just worried about you & didn't want to call house if things pants. A little advice when I had my bowel removed & they reversed the colostomy operation. I was told not to lift or over stretch. I ignored their advice because I felt well. I managed to burst the stitches whilst changing the bed The consultant & GP's nurse really told me off. What I am trying to say is that your body will need time to heal you've been through more than any of use could even imagine. YOu may feel stronger but PLEASE PLEASE TAKE CARE. Or I will get in the car & come & kick you butt!

I am waiting for GP to call back about poo watch. I am not wanting to give lactelose due history of bowel problems in family. But thanks for the advice

right off to have tea & toast

TheMadHouse · 24/03/2009 09:48

EHM I know, I know. I am now taking this easier.

Good idea about the doctors. I know about the bowel history, but I am not sure iof you remember that DS2 had "bowel issues" at birth. Lactelose is not a lacetive as such, but a stool softener. it is a type of sugar the body can not absorbe, so stays in the bowel and keeps the poo moist - where as water etc tends to be absorbed - so the longer you do not poo, the firmer the poo gets and the more painful it is to pass.

swan DS1 is a wiggly child too, so we invested in a heated underblanket and it works wonders. We tied the sleeping bag, but as he is younger he couldnt get out to go to the loo

It is unbelievably hard work being a SAHM TMH, when the kids are SAHKs age, I don't think till we are ill we realise how much depends on us. Very glad your mum is helping you (I'm sure she is getting a lot out of being with them too) and you just stayed in bed a bit.

Feeling a bit like SAGACIOUS.
Today I am going to

Plant strawberries, yes
deepclean bath
bake choc chip cookies
bake brown bread
weed the lawn of obvious dandelions, mutant weeds
move bookcase back into spareroom, because now I can't get into loft (aargh)
make stock for risotto
buy peas, mushrooms and parsley, apples, bananas

Menu plan for next four days
risotto tonight
egg and chip - salad - kids, and quiche (to make)/Saladfor dh tomorrow
sausages and defrosted tomato/bean stew Thurs
New potatoes, fish and green veg Friday
Saturday dcs to Zoo with Grandma, supper casserole (to make)
Sunday pizza dough from freezer, fruit crumble (to make)

swanriver · 24/03/2009 10:02

TMH, we are still lifting ds2 at 10.30pm/11 to avoid wet beds. We will have to stop soon, as he really is too heavy. - and too old That's why I think sleeping bag was no prob. Will cross my fingers for tonight, as early rising was making my ds2 v. manic.

Strawberries!

Tortoise · 24/03/2009 10:09

Morning all.
TMH Hope all is ok at the clinic later. Glad you are taking it easy!

EHM Good luck with poo watch. DD2 had a few hard poos but no major problem. Hope Dr can help.

I have a lady coming this morning to help me write a CV. She is giving me advice about getting back into work. I haven't worked for 11yrs and never been to an interveiw so need lots of help. Also need help with gaining confidence as this will really hold me back if i don't sort it out!

Also trying to make easter bonnets. DD1's is half done. I am just trying to stick hay to it lol! It is a nest. It really doesn't want to stick. grr!!

Jas · 24/03/2009 11:04

Hello I have been so rubbish at FLYing you have disappeared off my threads I'm on list

DP has work today so I want to get lots of housework done and need a regular kick.

I'm nt going to do a list, sufice to say the place is a tip, and we are going away in a week so I need it sorted, plus everything getting ready to fly, plus finish laying stepping stones in the garden that I started at the weekend so I can put down grass seed before we leave.....

I also have lots of paperwork to do, and ds has just done something to the computer that has mucked up the display, but I've wasted 1/2 hour trying t sort it out already so I'm going to live with it for today.

swan The tiling is finished but nt grouted. Another job to get done before we go away Thanks fr asking

TMH Sorry I've not kept up with bobwatch. I hope you are recovering now the implants are out. I see you are back at the clinic today so I will check in later to see yu yu got n.

Ruby Another accident? Glad dh is ok, though.

Welcome newbies and returnees

I'm srry I've missed everyone else, but this is turning into the longest post I've ever done and I am supposed to be cleaning, so.....

Right, I have energy

Jas · 24/03/2009 12:08

Sorry about all the missing "o"s in my posts.
I'm killing another keyboard.

Thanks TMH I know you are right, but I'm not really keeping up with mn at all lately, and when I am here, it tends to be evening and you lot are all god FLYpeople who go to bed before midnight

@ Flame. Good to see you back here, too

Washing is under control.
Kitchen is clean
Sitting room is tidy
I have written a huge list of things to get done this week.

I will go d lunch, then report back before the next school run (one at three and one at four today).

swanriver · 24/03/2009 12:21

Brrr it is FREEZING OUTSIDE. 2 jumpers and two coats. wind from siberian steppes.
looking forward to nice warm baking in a mo.

Tortoise · 24/03/2009 12:23

Hello jas.Are you going somewhere nice? Good luck with getting everything done before you go.

Trying to decide what to do for the next hour. DS1's room is terrible but should i be leaving that to him to do? He is nearly 12!

My Brother is here now to cut my lawn. He has no job or home, just sleeps at a friends at night so i am giving him a few quid to do my gardening. One less job for me!!

swanriver · 24/03/2009 12:25

Excitement. My first vegetable box delivery has arrived! How very strange, it is full of sun-drenched veg from Med? I was expecting swedes and turnips but anyway...

gibbberish · 24/03/2009 12:29

Hi everyone and jas

Just got back from hospital with dd1 and am a bit of shock.

They have discovered she has a giant tumour in her breast, not malignant thank goodness, but she needs to have op to remove it.

Because it is so large (8cm) it has basically taken over her whole breast so no breast tissue has been able to form. So she will also need breast reconstruction at some point.

Is going in on the 15th for the op.

So no flying today - taking her to Glasgow this afternoon for a shopping trip for the Grand Ball.

Hope you are all having ok days and TMH you are taking it easy!

swanriver · 24/03/2009 12:30

Tort, my brother used to be like that, in fact we briefly used to do landscaping jobs together if you can believe it (I certainly can't). Now he has home and computer job. It took him a while for him to settle down. Luckily he had lots of friends.

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 12:31

I have washing on the line I can do the mission too - easily can spend 15 mins picking up crap from in here

My sink is not shiny but I am going to ignore that. If I just do missions and ignore babysteps for a bit it might work?

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 12:32

Gibberish - missed your post!

gibbberish · 24/03/2009 12:35

Is a bit of a shock flame. Has apparently had it since she was 12 (she is 15 now) which is when we first went to the doc about it, but it has always been put down to age and developmental changes.

Just glad that it is finally being dealt with now and is not just in our heads!

swanriver · 24/03/2009 12:37

Oh Gibbberish what a shock.
And for her - is she a tweenie or a teenager? Hope you have a busy lovely afternoon shopping to take her mind off it, and have lots of comfort food together.
