How do you get rid of and what is the cause of mould?

DH has just discovered some mould on the windowsill.

Does anyone have any idea how to get rid and what causes it please?

It could be being caused by condensation, wiping the condensation off might help, as might opening windows or using a dehumidifier. I've used Dettox mould & mildew remover and think it's great. I do try to use natural producs such as white vinegar and bicarb of soda for most of my cleaning but this is the only thing I've found that works well for mould & mildew
