[Little whisper} Hello Folks

Getting up is getting harder. But I managed to force myself out of bed and

Downstairs with washing
Start breakfast
Wake Ed
Take indoor bins out
Serve breakfast
Empty DW
Put away
Up for shower for Ed and me
Down again to help him dress
Wave him off to school
Go back to bed I fell asleep
Up at 10:30 Strip bed sheets
Have lunch
Load DW
To School
Dinnerlady stint
Off Curricular activities stint
Home, re sheet bed
Load WM and run
General tidying.

I am in some discomfort atm. I'm putting it down to lack of sunlight and it being too damn cold. (and yeah, maybe doing too much). DH poured a slug of cold water on the post grad stuff last night which made me rather . I know he's being practical but the upshot seems to be 'so long as it has no impact on me' really.

I'm doing no more today. I'll take so painkillers and turn the heaters on instead

swanriver · 30/01/2009 17:53

Definitely don't do any more today. Maybe you have planted a seed by having graduate conversation, even if he doesn't immediately bounce up and down with excitement.

TheMadHouse · 30/01/2009 18:07

Oh my word had a horrible day.
At Grandmas, DD (2.2)on her way out of back door, fingers in hinge, DS shut the door ... you can guess the rest.
Finger end from top of nail diagonally down to tip hanging off by skin thread.
Made MIL drive to A and E immediately (waved off her suggestions of waiting for DH, I couldn't drive as DD wanted me to hold her). She did it bless her (she drives but won't do roundabouts or right traffic lights both on the way to A and E )
Got seen straight away, x ray etc - broken and needs general anaesthetic for repair - sent to another hospital to see plastic surgeon. At other hospital waited 1.5 hours to see surgeon. Got to phone tomorrow to see if a bed if so, op is at 1.30.
Poor poor thing, and she didn't cry ONCE. Brave brave girl.
Of course, the words 'Don't shut the door, George' were still hanging in the air as he shut the door.

swanriver · 30/01/2009 19:39

Oh what a hideous accident Wendy, thank god you had MIL with you. poor george too, he must be very upset with what happened - sometimes they are just on automatic pilot. Dd once caught her finger in heavy selfclosing firedoor hinge at a pizzeria and I think it was sore for ages, but did heal remarkably quickly compared to you or I doing same thing. Hope op works out tomorrow.

TheMadHouse · 30/01/2009 19:53

Oh my God Wendy I can only imagine what you are feeling, as I felt sick reading that. I hope there is a bed and everything for DD tomorrow and that all goes well. I know we will be the last thing on your mind, but please update us as soon as you can. I trapped DS1's fingers in the car door and was horrified.

Poor dd, Wendy Hope everything is OK tomorrow x x

wendythepositivethinker · 30/01/2009 20:20

Thanks guys
We have had finger tip in car door too with George I am thinking once is an accident twice is careless
I'm just tired and guilt tripping as we mums do.
I need a bath and an early night. Instead I'm obsessing looking on rightmove for a new house. I have got stuck surfing the Net, it beats housework, or thinking, or just doing something constructive
Hit me with a stick or anything!
Will keep you informed.
Oh, and I was meant to go to see Strictly tomorrow night in Sheffield

dylsmum1998 · 30/01/2009 20:54

dont feel bad wendy i have lost count the amount of times dd has had her fingers shut in doors i swear her fingers are magnets for hinges!!
hope all goes well and she has her bed tomorrow poor love

Wolfcub · 30/01/2009 21:37

wendy I hope dd is ok and that there is a bed free tomorrow
grouchy take it easy try and get an early night. DP pissed on my parade re volunteering last night and my parents pissed on my parade about it again today. Why is it that the people we love can't just be supportive when we try to fulfill and develop ourselves.

Done
did mammoth supermarket shop
picked ds up from granny's
put shopping away
washed bottles for recycling
cleaned bottom half of inside of fridge
took rubbish out
washed up
made shepherd's pie for freezer
made lamb burgers for freezer
more washing up
worktops cleaned
sticky shelf in baking cupboard cleaned
cleaned top of bin

I am exhausted and in pain - back, fingers and knee are killing me. Have just sat down and eaten tea and phoned loss adjusters who have left a couple of snotty phone calls, can't understand why when they know I work and they have my work number that they can't phone me at work. GRRR

swanriver · 30/01/2009 21:59

Reasons: damage limitation- I told you so, I warned you (in advance)
selfishness/cautiousness - not wanting to take the slack fear of change
shortsightedness, protectiveness - not realising that we can tired out exhausted by present circumstances child demanding job too much to do already but we long for new challenges. New challenges are LESS exhausting because they inspire us instead of draining us.

swanriver · 30/01/2009 22:04

oh and wolfcub and grouchy, made the BREAD by hand. very nice (possibly over did the rising) - so, thanks for your help. A present for DH on his return from eurozone!

Wolfcub · 30/01/2009 22:15

mmm swan yummy, lucky dh homemade bread is really comforting and lovely

Jas · 30/01/2009 23:27

Hello

New mn has scared me off Couldn't face trying to find my way round the dodgy layout today, but it is a bit better now.

Sorry you all seem to have lost the secret FLYsoc, I promise MAD and I have not blackballed anyone

Wolfcub · 31/01/2009 04:00

Ds is screaming the place down and lobbing bears out of his got like scud missiles in a bid to enter parental bed territoy. We are now in the second hour of war. I'm losing the will to live and dp is at risk of losing his rag so it's time for a cuppa whilst we try and draw up a peaceful resolution strategy
