Well, from the 70's-the manual is a textbook!! Please tell me using a sewing machine isn't that hard-have shoved all the fabric under my bed as I can't bear to attempt it now. I always wondered why I was never allowed to touch mum's sewing machine-now I know-it isn't a sewing machine, it is a fighter jet!

I have just finished a sewing course and loved it! I had inherited an old (70's probably) sewing machine and wanted to learn how to use it, thread it up etc (v. basic)so signed up for course. imagine surprise when i find out its garment making!!! so i have gone from NEVER using a sewing machine, to making an entire dress. Once you get hang of it, it will be fine - i promise. Is it a merritt sewing machine by any chance?
