My Mum got a banana bag - it turned the bananas black in less than 7 days - what is she doing wrong?

I've not heard of a banana bag Katy but bananas give off ethylene gas which ripens other fruits round it.
Perhaps if she kept the underripe bananas for say three days and kept checking to see if they are ready>

I guess - it is a lakeland thing - so I thought it would be good

I've got one, it does turn the bananas black, but then they're fine inside usually - what were your mums like inside?

chloemegjess · 24/12/2008 19:57

What is it meant to be for? I mean, like what does it do?

You mean she threw away 5 perfectly good....but black bananas

She will be annoyed

It keeps bananas fresh apparently

I've got one, yes the skins go black but like magic the bananas on the inside are still fine.

It is weird, especially if someone sees you remove one from the bag for your 2 year old and it would seem you are giving them a manky old black banana!

It works, tis magic
