tmh glad you have heating at last

i have been in uni library most of the day trying to write my assignment. had a call just before 3 saying dd has atemp can they give her calpol. so i went to pick her up from nursery then got ds from after school club. in the time it got to get her home the effects of calpol had warn off (an hour tops) and her temp at 39.3, she sleeping on the sofa at the mo.
ds has taken himself off to bed as he feels sick and not good (his words)
i have managed to put away dishes and wash up. sort out washing and iro while she sleeps. just waiting for my dinner to cook, hopefully she'll snooze long enough for me to eat. poor love

Dyls Hello again, missed you....Have you got any Ibuprofen suspension (eg. Calprufen) It can be taken in conjunction with Paracetamol and will bring down a temp for up to 8 hours)

Hope the DCs pick up soon

dylsmum1998 · 15/12/2008 18:29

go do you know if that the one you can't have if asthmatic? i can never remember so just stick with calpol

AndaGrouchyBahHumbugtoyou · 15/12/2008 19:05

Dyls It's asprin that has the asthma contra indication The info here seems to suggest Ibuprofen is OK

Ed has been dancing around merrily to this I can't fault him

Just calling in - am a terrible FLYer at the mo...

for you bewilder! What an awful thing to happen - do say if we can offer support in any way x x

Yay for heating TMH

So much I ought to be doing but no energy to make me do it.....

TheGarishlyTwinkleyMadHouse · 15/12/2008 20:41

I still have heating

DH is lovley and has bought me Nigellas christmas book to go with the TV series which is running this week.

I made the mince pies with Orange juice instead of water in the pastry (as per hairy bakers) and it is fantastic.

Boys have broke my circular cutters though - they were using them as suction cups as per backyardigans

ByThePowerOfBaileys · 15/12/2008 20:55

Have done little today.
DH cooked me dinner and has opened wine... think he has ideas for later.. well it is my birthday tomorrow so I guess once more before I am too old!

was going to make mince pies this afternoon but have run out of plain flour so need to go shopping tomorrow morning.

good to hear your heating is working still TMH

Jas · 15/12/2008 21:06

Another terrible FLYer checking in.

I made Hairy biker mince pies today, too, but also put cinammon in the pastry....Yummy

bewilder. I hope you are ok.

to everyone, and a cheer for finally having heating TMH

Happy pre-birthday Baileys.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 21:08

Evening all.
DD2 was poorly yesterday so i got nothing done. She isn't too good still so no school again tomorrow. She had a bad head and high temp then was sick yesterday morning. She was only sick 3 times during the morn but still has headache, temp and says her throat hurts. She hasn't eaten much today. Will go to Th Dr's tomorrow if she is still poorly in the morning.

BW Sorry to hear about the burglary. How could they!
TMH Yay! Glad you have heating.
Dyls Poor DD. Hope DS is ok too. My DD2 is asleep in my sofa bed!

dylsmum1998 · 15/12/2008 21:08

oh tmh i was just watching that they look yum. must start the christmas baking, i have loads of family coming this year can't wait!

ds says he feels better just a slight tummy ache.
dd temp went to 41.1, now down to 39.9 she just asked to brush her teeth then took herself to bed, so will see how she goes tonight, if no improvement n her temp, or it gets worse will be phoning doc.

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 21:09

Ooh forgot to add, i have a lovely pic of my lot in my profile. Took a millon attemps to get a good one!

dylsmum1998 · 15/12/2008 21:11

x-posts i got distracted , don't know where ds gets that from

Happy birthday for tomorrow baileys tort hope dd is better soon
its horrid when they are poorly isnt it

dylsmum1998 · 15/12/2008 21:14

Thats a lovely pic tort -they look a cheeky bunch

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 21:15

Yes Dyls it is. At least she is at an age where she can roughly say where it hurts. i did start to worry about meningitis with her having such a bad head and temp. But the teacher said today that is how this bug seems to start. Hope DD2 keeps it to herself and doesn't pass germs to me or DD1,DS1 or DS2!

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 21:16

Thanks Dyls [fgin] They are!

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 21:16

Another vote for the orange juice in the pastry - yummy - made some at the weekend, recipe is in Domestic Goddess book too.

See you all tomorrow

TortoiseRidesaReindeer · 15/12/2008 22:04

Nope no news on the cooker. Am booked for Saturday delivery. Just have to wait abd see if they call to cancel again. Buggered if they do!
I do orange pastry for mince pies too. My mums recipe! Not sure i will bother this year. Probably too fatty! At least with bought ones i can see exact fat content.
