Would you wait on Roomba 580 or are you happy with the Roomba 560?

Gordon Bennett - 400 quid! Quite happy with my 530 thanks, love it actually. I didn't really need the extra features of the 560, such as programming (because I knew I'd never get round to reading the instructions). I didn't want to pay more either- was only 117 and does a great job.

thnks Moshie, I will then go for the 560 (GBP200) as it is claiming to have improved navigation and floor coverage, edge and corner cleaning.

Are you happy with the suction? I am not expecting magic but we will use it for daily carpet vacuuming. Do you use it on carpet or hard floor?

Both, it's fab on carpets because the brushes brush the pile up. It's surprising how much it picks up, better than Henry. It goes from a hard floor onto a rug easily. The only thing it doesn't do is stairs.

ToughDaddy · 29/11/2008 18:22

Who/what is Henry ?

Did you buy extended wrranty?

Sorry, should have said "my usual vacuum cleaner" Henry
I didn't extend the warranty, it seems fairly basic, brushes and bearings remove for cleaning. Plus I bought it for such a good price I thought I'd take the risk.
There's a Roomba thread here somewhere, try Good Housekeeping.

Oh, there are a few, this is the one I was thinking of.

ToughDaddy · 29/11/2008 20:15

many thanks moshie. I am all excited now

Did you buy from the official iRobot website? Not sure about some of the "cheaper" websites.

No I bought it from Makro as it was the best price I'd seen. I had to buy it because it was a bargain, it was £200 in the Lakeland catalogue.

Thanks for your help Moshie- just got the 560 on sale for 209 + 39 for 4 year comprehensive cover. Will try the concept and then consider the robot mop.
